Yesterday (Friday, 4/4/14) afternoon sometime between 2-3pm my mother was home alone. (Village of Pinellas) She answered the door (first problem) to a young woman who said she was delivering gourmet food, had a fender bender so was unable to deliver sooooo she would sell at a good price. The lady was turned away. My mother saw no one else & could see no vehicle. When we returned home very late last night we reported the incident to several neighbors via email. One replied a man had come to her house in a truck about the same time with a similar story. We reported the incident today to Sumter County Sheriff & Community ity Watch. We were told that such activity was reported today (4/5/14) in the Hillsborough neighborhood.

It is nothing new here. That is a time to call Community Watch right away. I have a Community Watch card on my fridge for quick access.

The same thing happened to us yesterday. I didn't answer the door, but my husband did. I didn't even see her. But her story was an old lady died and she was selling (?) her food. I don't know -- it was a really strange story.

However, I do remember a poster on TOTV a couple of years ago who was so paranoid he said he always answered the door with his pistol held behind his back - so I guess you are absolutely right.
