Yes, fact of life.... EVERYONE always pays the price for the lack of morality of the few, rather at the gym, or the grocery, at the pools on cruise ships and resorts. GONE are the days when the big, soft, fluffy, clean towels are piled high for guest to help themselves.

Default Sweetwater Car Wash

The Sweetwater car wash does a fairly good job for the money, however, their dryer leaves a lot to be desired. Car is left wet from front to back. You have to towel it off or you have water spots all over the car.

What a great answer! Thank you for turning this into a fun read.

Get your car, suv, golf cart detailed by Gordon Hamm, inside and out. All proceeds go to charity ( the school system) and you pay what you think the job is worth. He will not ask for identification, just a donation. And he uses his own supplies ( towels included). Call him to make an appointment 352-396-8509. He is also a Village resident.

[QUOTE=Golfer222;2189878]Went to get car washed at Sweetwater at Trailwinds yesterday, There were no cloths in the trays at the vacuums to wipe down car. After walking to the office, I and others were advised that to get the cloths we had to leave our divers license, write down our name and phone number and the number of cloths we were using. After returning the cloths, we could have our license back.
Go there every few weeks and this is apparently their new policy.
I am not giving some kid i do not know my drivers license. They said it is due to the cloths being stolen. Needs to be a better way. Will not go back there[/QUOTE

Prefer Mr Clean Car Wash anyways. They supply towels and other cleaning materials. Think their wash does a better job.

I would say bring your own from home. Seems liked they used to provide a service to their customers but of course some took advantage of it and screwed the rest of us.

Charge a dollar for the towel, bring it back and get your dollar back. Easy Peasy....

Is it that hard to bring your own microfiber drying towel?

Boy, someone is really entitled. I can’t have my free towel so let’s shame the businesses. Waaaaaa. Wasaaaa

I have to say it's not that big a deal, if water spots matter that much then you should be washing by hand, otherwise bring your own towels. Also makes me wonder why anyone that would want to wipe their car down would even trust towels left by the car wash to use.... again do it yourself.

I’m in trouble when I go there then since I don’t have a ‘divers license’ to leave them. Never was very good at diving anyway so probably couldn’t pass the diving test!! 😂

First-world problems...
I keep my own towel in the car for wiping the excess water off.

The villages, everyone wants something for nothing, even couple of rags. Offer free anything and you’ll get trampled

And some people thought the cloths were theirs to keep. The other option is to raise prices more to cover the cost of the cloths and the labor to replenish them through out the day.
