Has anyone installed a swim spa that heats to at least 100 degrees? If so, would you recommend or not.
Same question for an in-ground spa/hot tub. Would you do it again? |

We have an above ground hot tub that can handle 5 people (seats for 3), easily heats to 102 degrees, is currently over 10 years old and I love it and use to almost daily. No experience with a swim spa. We decided early on when we built that we did not need a pool, there are 4 within a 1 to 3 minute golf cart drive. And yes we would definitely do it again.

have to swim at a constant speed or you will either swim through the current or get pushed back by the current. I use a super swim pro swim teather system to swim in our in-ground pool and love it. It’s very simple and basic but works excellent, you can vary your swim efforts at will, it is very inexpensive, and is totally maintenance free. If you google it you can see videos of how the system works. Good luck with whatever you choose. |

My guess is you have very little space for tiny pool, so swim spa may be an option instead of a spa. One of fitness clubs decided to add 6 lane swim jets to give another layer of exercise for laps, along with 12 indoor lanes and 12 outdoor lanes. For hard core swimmers it was great.
A home everyday swim a spa has its perks and great downfall (climbing up steps to enter) Depending on the model (you need to buy the uppermost spa) the jets can have 1-6 swim modes, with cheaper models having the least. With any speed you need to be consistent, so if you are a high level swimmer, a spa could work well. Occasional swimmers in my opinion a swim spa may be wasted money. I know 2 homes that installed a swim spa in TV (watching the crane moving the spa over their house gives you pause) one uses their high end daily as a swim spa. It has a variable mode which is interesting. I found it challenging to swim my usual 2-3 miles in their spa as opposed to my tether at home. So either I am a lazy swimmer or shoulders are worn out. Our other friends mostly use swim spa as a tiny pool to get wet, or giant expensive to heat jacuzzi. |
