Pools and their bathrooms, showers and locker rooms are for residents and their registered guests, except sports pools which are for residents only. You are supposed to show an ID but the Villages is very lax about checking. I swim laps seven days a week as long as weather permits. In five years I have encountered young gals jumping in the pool in cut offs, guys drinking bottled beer and smoking, children in the sports pools, a young woman showering while her boyfriend watched as lookout, and various others who are obviously not residents. My 75 year old husband was denied access to a pool bathroom while out for a walk near Everglades because he did not have his ID.

They come around and check about every hour or so, at least that’s what they do at Santiago where I go
Maybe it's all about timing but I have never been asked for my ID at Riverbend pool. I was asked twice at the shuffleboard court and when I said it was in the golf cart was told no need to get it. If indeed nonresidents are using the pools and facilities that residents pay for then security needs to be stepped up. I understand that a certain number will take offense at being asked to prove residency just like they do when asked for ID when using a credit card or making a bank transaction but that's no reason for TV to ignore everyone elses security.

That is not true, You have to have either a Resident Card, Rtemp Resident card or a Guest Pass that only a Resident can get for you. Also no one in the 3 Counties, Marion Lake or Sumter can get a Guest Pass.

Default Bathrooms at Pools

I have no problem with contractors, landscapers, those working in the Villages to keep it beautiful for our enjoyment, using the bathrooms at the pools. What’s the problem with that? Where would you want them to relieve themselves? OP stated “you wouldn’t believe who uses....” Who, pray tell, would we be shocked to see using “our” bathrooms.

I got all the kids & grandkids a Village ID in order to swim in the pool. We only went 1X and played Bocce 1X with them all. The ID's were not checked which is good because no one brought their wallets to swim.

I have never seen any of these things happen except maybe an occasional discrete beer I find it really hard to believe that a neighborhood watch guy would deny you access to a bathroom and if so you should have complained to the neighborhood watch

Default What were the contractors doing before they came to the bathroom.

We are in the pool walking around with bare feet and the contractors come in with dirty boots after doing God knows what to use the bathroom.
What is needed are new ID cards like motel room keys to use the bathrooms at the neighborhood pools.

Where else do you want the contractors to go to the bathroom? I have no problem with that. They are people too.

Yes let’s stop the workers from using the bathrooms instead we can line the streets with portable toilets instead. I wouldn’t just worry about workers though, going into men’s rooms anywhere in villages restaurants and watching so many guys skip washing there hands and going back out makes me wonder what there bathrooms look like
