Default AT&T 4G service

I am considering an AT&T hotspot for use throughout The Villages. If you have experience with their 4G service since the new towers were installed, please let me know what village you are in and the quality of your service. Thanks

We live in Hadley near the adult pool and the number of bars didn't change for us with the added towers. We still have 1-2 bars only. Once we installed the microcell in the house we have 4-5 bars.

In Buttonwood, service is 100% better since the new towers went in. I can make a call from inside the house now. Using iphone 5 with 4G.

I spent 2 weeks using my AT&T personal hotspot at our new home in Sanibel - Silk Tree Terrace and I had spotty results. I would be working away on my computer and down it would go. I had 3 - 4 bars so go figure. I think I will need to order cable Internet to be sure of a connection. I also blew through almost 2 gb of time as well.. If you don't need to rely on it it would probably be okay. Good luck. I only have 3G on my IPhone.

Please consider the Brownwood area. Those of us in villages south of CR466a
are underserved by AT&T. Our contract for two IPhones is up in January and are going to switch to Verzion because we only get 3 bars at best in Sanibel with our current ATT service. We were at Evans Prairie CC Sunday and only got 3 bars on our phones.

Before you all bolt to Verizon...... I have used their 4G WIFI for the last 16 months from Duval and it is like having a 2400 baud modem again, except the Verizon MIFI drops the signal more often. Highly unsatisfactory for any serious work. I think Comcast is the worst company in the world and their customer service is the hallmark of terrible but it may be the best of a horrible set of choices. I am still in therapy from dealing with their customer service people.

Default At&t

We live in Fernandina - behind Bradenton - and have had no problem with our AT&T service since we moved in on 11/17. We have plenty of bars. Wish our Bright House WiFi worked as well. For the range we have we might as well be wired.

We loved Verizon up North, but we signed a 2 year agreement here for our house in Hadley and the phones wouldn't work at all at our house. They seemed to be searching for towers all the time. It wasn't easy but we eventually were able to terminate our contract. You may wish to find out what your neighbors are using and ask to borrow their phone and take it in your house to see if it will work there. Just a suggestion.

iphone 5 with AT&T 4G in Sunset Pointe and service is great. 4-5 bars in the house everywhere and solid 5 once outside.

I was an AT&The customer for years in St Louis. When We closed in February 2012 I had zero service in our home in The Village of St James. Switched to Verizon and am very happy with their 4G LTE service. It's just as fast or faster than my Comcast connection although it has slowed down since the iphone adopted 4G LTE radios. Here are some speed tests I ran just for this thread.
