Default TracFone in Sanibel

I was renting in Pennecamp and noticed a big difference when the new towers were activated. However, now that I have bought a villa in Sanibel, I can't get reception inside my own house! I use TracFone. I hate to revert to a plan with a contract. Any ideas?

Default Absolutely Awful

After a lifetime of Verizon, I had to get AT&T when I wanted an iPhone. AT&T is simply awful. I experience "bad audio" on virtually every call I make while driving around The Villages. And dropped calls? Having to dial and redial calls has just become commonplace.

I'll be getting an iPhone 5 when they come out in a couple weeks. I wouldn't consider renewing with AT&T if they gave me the service for nothing. I know you won't believe that, but it's that bad.

I live in Mallory and a lot of my calls connect in e south end of The Villages.

Thinking of going with a tar phone on AT&T. Live in st James. Read this entire thread. Have the new AT&T towers actually been installed and is the service very good now? Thanks

I would also like updated info. Especially south of 466A.
We were there in May 2013 for our LSL and had no reception problems during our stay. Would live to hear from some residents south of 466A!
TIA!

We have been living in Fernandina since early May and have not experienced any dropped calls, either in our area or anywhere in or around the Villages. We are on ATT, using two 4S iPhones. We have no complaints about quality of service, just wish their rates were lower....

The AT&T towers were up and running last August:

New Towers In Service for AT&T

That's the last I've heard about any AT&T towers.

Thanks, that is reassuring, we really like our ATT contract. Signed on with early iphones and have unlimited data and texts. Any changes to our plan will increase our rates and we would rather not go there!

We are in Amelia with AT&T service and since the new towers went up last Aug service has been fantastic. What a difference. Before that it was horrible. We are very pleased now. No problems.

I'm in South Fernandina (on the edge of the construction zone). My AT&T Blackberry 9900 had very good reception here (and most places around TV). My new AT&T Galaxy S4 doesn't show as many bars, but seems to have an OK signal, at least for the places I've been in the last 2 weeks. Of course, your mileage will vary, especially if your phone isn't one of those 2 models.

I live in Charlotte and have AT&T with an iPhone 4S. I get 3 bars of reception (out of possible 5, I think) in most places inside my block and stucco home. In one or 2 places inside the house the reception occasionally is a little sketchy, but I have not experienced any dropped calls. I also have the original unlimited data plan and will stay with AT&T when iPhone 5S or 6 comes out.
