Any time 4 days in advanced… same odds. Many people think an early request will help, not the case. Today you can request Thur thru Sunday. Your points on day 4 is the biggest deciding factor.

Default Golfers Should Buy Pre-Owned Homes

Golfers shopping for homes in The Villages should NOT purchase a New Home in the Southern Areas, which have very few Executive Golf Courses. Rather, they should buy a Pre-Owned home in the Middle or Northern areas which have plenty of golf courses nearby.

Maybe all snowbirds should sell to only full-time residents and then you’d have one less think to de happy about

That would be my advice as well. Or, at the very least, rent before buying and find out how the travel time to most of the courses will or won't bother one.

I can't count the number of times I've heard someone say they never were interested in golf, and bought south of 44, but now that they are here, and retired with time on their hands, and "free" golf is accessible, they want to take the game up. Totally reasonable. Unfortunately the infrastructure to accommodate all of the golfers hasn't kept up with the demand, so it's become ridiculously difficult to get times.

Thank you all for the advice, except the snowbird complainers.

Good advice! And I think all north Happy Gilmore players should stay North of 44 so we don't have to deal with you in traffic or the MPPs! Stay North my friend, stay North! 😜

Otherwise it's a roll of the dice. We got mid-afternoon reservations for two, mid-afternoon on De La Vista today by checking the system yesterday mid-morning. We've been able to get times to fit our schedule (if not necessarily on the course(s) we'd have preferred) more often than not. You might have to travel a bit, but for the most part we've pretty much played as much golf as we wanted to this winter and spring.
Probably not like summers pass with increased population and course closures.

The south is expanding. I think in the short term you are correct, but eventually, the north will be just a footnote in overall TV. It will become the bulldoze and rebuild of TV......😁

Not a problem for me, I went south once. I still remember it. Probably has changed though.

You need to put in Request. Trying for reservation is too late. Many courses are closed for repairs so there is less availability. Also there is not enough courses open down South yet; except Pitch and Putt and they’re a waste of time very few folks want to play them.

Heheh. Snowbirds are a big part of the difficulty getting a tee time. My statement is not a complaint. It is simply a statement of a relevant fact related to your original post. I have no problem with snowbirds at all.

I wish you the best of luck getting a tee time.

Or, from part-time owners point of view, full timers are a big problem getting tee times. Everyone pays the same amenity fees but part-timers have less time to use them.
