wow, great thank you all so much!! I like to play at around 4600-5000 yrds +/- how many courses does TV have ?? So glad to know a single CAN get on, that has been such a worry to me, I don't want to have to make a tee time, I never decide till I'm "ready to go play" LOL..I just drive up to the course i'm in mood to play and ask what is earliest I can squeeze in. Sometimes it's a few minutes sometimes it's 30-40 min,and that's fine too Same as when I am on the road elsewhere, and never a problem as a single there either!! Thanks again for all the replies!!!!!! As soon as our house sells, we are going to come down and check it out for month or more++

Golf here is a little different and you probably will have to reserve your time, although it is not unheard of for people to get a walk on once in awhile. It is much easier for a single to get a tee time anytime.


Executive golf is MUCH less competitive, much more...um...casual... than any place I have ever lived and there are many brand new golfers in the mix. Sometimes that isn't much fun for a seasoned golfer. I have lost track of the courses. I think we have 32 executive courses and 12 championship.


There is a LOT of golf available, but the atmosphere is different here. My husband is a low handicapper and likes it very much and I am happy with playing executive courses as I get a little older.

Bogeyqueen - sounds like you're looking for our regulation 18 holes, which in the Villages they call the Championship courses. The way they do tee times here mostly is in waves - they tee people off between 7:30 and 9:30, then after noon they let another wave out. There are a couple of courses that run regular tee times as we're used to all day long. Usually, as a single you can call a course and ask and get a tee time for the same day. March might be iffy because it is so busy. As I said, for most of the courses, though, you could only go out during the times they release the wave. Ladies Day and Mens day are done by reservation only. They play in the morning wave. Its a nice way to meet other people that play golf, and they always have a game of some sort going that you put in a few dollars to participate in, and closest to the pin, etc. Come down and check us out!

I love the Executive courses. After today I have meant/played with 103 different golfers in the month of February. All very nice! Also great walking!!!
