5 years ago we looked at home between the 6’s. No termite treatment since it was built 15 Years ago.
Upon inspection termites were found within 1’ of the home, in two areas, according to inspection reports, complete with photos. We passed.

They then walk the inside looking for damaged wood trim, cabinets etc.

Nothing ever found.

One thing you could conclude is that the protection works. Another is that it is not a major problem here because of all of the chemicals pumped into the ground at the time of building.

I have asked for this forum to provide examples of Termite infestations in The Villages and I cannot recall any significant examples being cited other than experiences some may have had outside of The Villages.

One way to look at it is that it is insurance. Another is to question real estate agents selling previously used homes as to what they have experienced.
The above was my post in Oct 2025. My last inspection was about two weeks after I posted. The inspector came to my house and the first thing he said to me was that there was a recent high level of termite issues in the Villages. He indicated that there was one incident of a woman parking her car at a store to shop and when she came out she found her car covered with termites. (Perhaps it was an old woodie) That discussion confirmed my decision to cancel my Termite Contract. Have not heard of any such issues from any other source.

They came shortly after to retrieve their traps. That is for show to try to make me think I was losing something valuable,
