The kicker?
A reported 600 mile range.
Much faster charging times.
Will last 40 years!
Imagine that, swap your battery to your new EV shell, when the time comes.
Go ahead and keep buying your Teslas. I know where my money will go.
It will be great when we see something like this but it’s many years away until we see it in our cars.

Theoretically, the ICE car would be faster saving on charging stops. Driver fatigue would be a limiting factor. In the Tesla, particularly near the end of each trip, I relied heavily on self drive to complete the trip. I used the stops to walk around since sitting still for too long risks blood clots(DVT).

As an aside, doing the trip a large number of times, I experimented with different charging strategies. Tesla's routing is not optimal and under-weights the time cost of stops. Fewer, longer stops are more time efficient. Start with a full charge, mapping out charging spots where you do not stop until 10-15% charge left. Also, driving faster does not get you there quicker! Due to charging overhead, on a multistop trip, faster arrival if keep speeds under 75 mph and if have the choice of a fast route or a shorter slow route, the shorter route is often faster due to charging time saved.

Tesla charger availability is great. Some thinner spots such as Georgia, but remarkable to have a car that is aware of all refueling locations along route and showing the pricing, slot availability and charging speed of each one! Horror stories about charger availability almost all nonTesla. Only charging negative is that running out of fuel is a disaster. Can not just go to a nearby gas station. Need a AAA type service that can top off a car to make it to a charging station. This does not yet exist. Need to tow the car to a charging site.
1,000 miles in one go is a long haul and doing it multiple times....with the option of ev vs. ice.....I'd say you know what you are talking about! I'll try some of your tips next time we do one.

Not years away: decades away. When we stop subsidizing this hoax EV sales will drop further off the map.

Also, when are they going to charge Tesla owners a road tax that ICE owners pay each time at the pump? Again, we are subsidizing the EV world. They tear up the streeets just like an ICE car

Internal combustion engines might not be broke but they sure need fixin'. ICE are the best they've ever been and they are still very inefficient. Too much wasted energy (heat), too many spinning things, too many things going up and down changing direction, mufflers, O2 sensors, lubrication, required maintenance. Just an inefficient means of transportation that has been surpassed by newer technologies. Gas engines have been refined, and refined, and refined, and they are pretty good, but there are better transportation solutions out there.

I forgot to mention I don't miss Apple CarPlay at all in my Tesla. The Tesla eco-system links to my iPhone just as well and the Tesla navigation is way better. Even if Apple CarPlay were available in my Tesla, I probably wouldn't use it.

What is really costing US taxpayers when it comes to ev vs. fossil fuel costs? (it ain't ev subsidiesj....)

Tax Breaks to the Oil and Gas Industry Cost Taxpayers More than the Electric Car Tax Credit - Koch Vs Clean

Oh and ev cars barely damage the roads at all....compared to trucks. And we all pay for road damage due to trucks so we should be good there.

Carry that weight? Electric vehicles outweigh gas cars but aren’t main culprit of road wear - Center for Transportation Research

“Load-related damage to pavement and bridges is caused almost exclusively by heavy trucks. The deterioration from a single large truck can easily be equal to that of thousands of autos,” Gottlieb said. “The contribution from autos and light trucks is insignificant. It makes no difference if they are EV or internal combustion.”

You can keep driving your f150 to get a gallon of milk or whatever, it's a great vehicle. Let's just not forget the facts. And if you have data to refute it, let's see it, most of us want to learn.

Video of me going through a gate in the Villages.

Mine always wants to go on the visitor side. Which is too far from the gate for it to slow down. Did you do something to train yours to go into resident side?

My 2025 K-4 LXS list price was $23,000. For that price, I get 35 mpg for local driving, 41 on the highway. It has the Adaptive Cruise Control, auto lane stay plus auto drive. It has radar the follows the white and yellow lane dividers and if you do not touch the steering wheel every few minutes a dash light comes on, after that a bell starts ringing. It is not FSD, but it is better looking than the small Tesla for half the price. Stay away from Jenkins.
I will sure second the "stay away from Jenkins "

The whole Tesla thing has also been beaten to death. Weird how someone who has been on the board for 19 years doesn't know how people here feel about Tesla.

I was going to quip "right after the Trader Joe's opens", but there are actually already two at the north end of town.

Running out of gas is also extremely inconvenient. Maybe not AS inconvenient, but still a pain in the rear.
