Don’t care. Too much fun to watch and find out it was not AI!

I’m thinking A LOT more than an ICE car. Which already isn’t cheap in Florida.
How about it Tesla owners.
How much are you paying annually for your insurance?

Tesla tires are also more expensive than conventional car tires. Tesla weighs A LOT more, so their tires need to be much more robust. And subsequently will wear out quicker.

The FSD function is what sells Tesla.
Worldwide Tesla has a 83% market share of electric vehicles. Elon is very smart, his net worth proves it.

I just rode in one with self driving and was amazed. As a person that spent 43 years in the auto industry, it was one of the best vehicles I’ve ridden in

We were on i75 and he punched the Mad Max button and we were going 85 in traffic and the car performed beautifully in self driving mode

The cost of insurance was covered earlier in the thread. Those without Tesla's claimed it was very expensive. Those who are actually paying said it was not much different than non-Tesla insurance.

Performance tires are more expensive and will wear out more quickly too. If you can afford a Tesla and the FSD subscription then the price of tires is not a concern. Plus, the lack of most other maintenance costs might offset the difference in tire costs.

Insurance costs for teslas are higher because they are so expensive to repair. You should be mindful of this when you buy and can probably get an idea from your insurance company what that might be.

Call your agent and ask for a quote. That’s what I did and it is about $300 more per year than my Genesis GV70

Teslas are statistically safer cars to drive. Our insurance only went up $180/yr from a 2000 Toyota. Tires need changing more frequently, but with no gas/oil/brake/transmission issues, it’s still cheaper than our ICE car

So, you’re saying Musk is just a bystander watching all this amazing technology happen?

He isn’t personally wrenching on rockets or cars, but he is orchestrating an amalgamation of technology companies that are dramatically reshaping our world.

It’s OK if you don’t like him, but he isn’t some clueless financier.

So Tesla and Starling are valid companies. Who's arguing?

What about predictions about visiting Mars, a million robo taxis, a $35K Tesla (though $37K is close), or a flying car (prototype shells don't count)?

The companies are valid, the projections, promises, and claims not so much.

Placed an order for my Y late today with an expected delivery of Dec/Jan. When I opened my Tesla APP it said expected delivery 10/23- 28. What? I check with Grok and it confirmed vehicle is in transport. Not sure where it is coming from. I had to hurry up and unfreeze my credit… apply for financing… get my insurance in order and order a new Epass. Not sure if I am happy or sad about the crazy fast delivery.
