I'm still on the fence for new tech. The roadster that IMO was more showing what Tesla can do than real world car was very interesting to me because of the 600 plus mile range. Take away the jet engines, pitch, yaw, roll jets, compressor for the jets, the suction fans that enable the car to partly invert, and the range, weight, and cost would have to be much better. I want to know when that range capability comes to a production car. I actually like the roadster, but not with the gadgets that'll never clear NTSB, insurance companies, and that drive the cost up.

Everyone is different, in my case, I would rarely ever go somewhere that my car would be sitting in the hot sun for a long period of time. Besides, if I leave home with an 80% charge and only drive 100 miles, I don’t see a problem. As I understand him, he would turn it on a while before returning to the car. As I said before, time will tell.

List of things you may want to consider:
Floor mats, and mat for the tailgate - Tesla floor mats aren't very good Mudflaps - small probability yours will come with them Jack pucks - just buy them and toss them in the frunk Windshield sunscreen Roof sunscreen - good probability you will want one, you can remove it in the cool season Spare tire - like many cars, Teslas don't come with a spare, you can store it in the well below the tailgate Quote:

Finally found a good reason to appreciate a Tesla. Had to wait behind one at the drive up window at Tropical Smoothie and it was nice to not have to suck in the exhaust of the car in front of me.

Or you can leave it off when out in the sun and let it get up to 140 degrees inside and turn on the AC a few minutes before you are going to drive and it'll cool off using the app on your phone. Plenty of people let them bake in the Phoenix sun all summer with no apparent damage. |

You can do that from your phone's home page drop down. How much more automatic do you need?

Pretty sure that what he’s talking about is the kit that electrically opens and closes <<the frunk>> AUTOMATICALLY, just like the trunk functions.

Yeah, I often wince at having to lift the extremely heavy frunk lid without the help of hydraulics. /eyeroll

It's not the opening of the Frunk but the closing. I'm always afraid of denting the hood with my hands. It's just not easy to close like a conventional gas car's engine hood. There is a system that opens and closes the Frunk automatically which is nice but there is also one that just closes the hood and latches it once it's down.

You can only Open but not close the Fronk and that is what I think he wants to do.
