Where to put your hands to close the frunk is well publicized. Assuming you follow the advice, denting the hood is simply not an issue.

It's not the opening of the Frunk but the closing. I'm always afraid of denting the hood with my hands. It's just not easy to close like a conventional gas car's engine hood. There is a system that opens and closes the Frunk automatically which is nice but there is also one that just closes the hood and latches it once it's down.
