As far as we know the original Thanksgiving was Venison-deer. At one time I think it was goose. Far as Italian, I've still not recovered from hearing chicken parmigiana is not really Italian. Having barely recovered from that, mom used to make turkey parmigiana.

Cornish game hen (one per person) dressed and stuffed like miniature turkey roasted. Served with mashed potatoes and BREAD STUFFING (sick and tired of cornbread stuffing) and all the other usual sides and trimmings. Favorite beverage and followed by a nap.
Oh, and don't forget to give thanks for all your blessings and for those who are on duty at home and around the world standing ready to defend and protect us.
