Bottom line is if someone wants something bad enough, they will find a way to take it. The main thing you are trying to do is eliminate the opportunity for someone to take it and go. If your bag is covered, they can't see what you have and unless they want the entire bag, they'll leave it alone. Uncovered and the see you have the nice new Calloway, hit the ball longer and straighter club, they will likely try to take it. Like most locks, it will keep the honest people, honest....

Please end my pain: STEAL MINE !

Buy cheap clubs. You'll save money, play just as well, and you won't worry about someone stealing them.

Thieves take the path of least resistance and quickest opportunities. A golf bag that has a locked cover doesn’t provide that opportunity so it’s highly likely they will move on to other carts. Nothing is perfect protection, but taking about 30 seconds to secure your sticks is way better than leaving them totally exposed. The new Callaway Paradym driver costs $600 bucks, I don’t have one but if I did I wouldn’t leave it unattended and unlocked in a public place. I always protect my clubs, having two identical bags at each of our homes makes replacements twice as expensive.

I remember in NYC they would walk around with cordless cutting wheels and cut those high end Kyroptinite locks in 15 seconds, it was like a hot knife going through butter. Now with expensive e-bikes they're having a field day up there.

Back to OP they do sell hard covers that lock to bag and cart. It's just a visual deterrent but the thief may move on to easier pickings.

AirTags in bag is also good if they do get the whole bag, there is some flaws with this but still it's worth the $20 they cost.

You can also lock the rain hood down that is attached to the golf cart.

Also don't use original driver head-covers like Callaway Paradym and stop buying flashy Sun Mountain C130 cart bags to put on your 2023 Yamaha that has all the whistles and bells.
It's just eye candy for thieves.

The other problem is if the steal clubs and cart all together, then I hope you have insurance for the cart, house insurance may pay for clubs.

Don't be putting in false claims either about your clubs because you want new ones. Insurance companies aren't stupid.

I digress.

But since you can’t see the type of clubs… and much easier to just go for the open bag clubs. They don’t try to take the bags because several are customized with name or personal logo embroidered etc. I suppose you could use an engraver on your clubs - makes it harder to resell though.

But, it's a deterrent... They'll typically move on to the next, easier target...

:clap2::clap2:

All golf clubs are of value...

And my cover cost no where near $100...

Any half decent set of clubs will cost $1000, or more...

That's not worth a $50 cover to slow down a thief and probably make him move on to the next cart?

If you say so...
