I had to replace the battery in my Schwinn speedometer on my Club Cart.
The cart has 8.5" wheels/tires. Does anyone know the conversion number I use to program the speedometer? Thank you in advance. |

Google it, it should tell you what number to punch in.

Could you try a number to get started and calibrate it with a GPS ? I was wondering myself how that could work.

The owners manual for your model speedometer "should be" online.
That said, if it is like my Bell speedometer you take the tire's diameter, convert it to millimeters then multiply times 3.1416 This will help with that conversion: Inches to Millimeters - in to mm conversion I then use a GPS to verify.

18 in -> 457.2 mm 457.2 * 3.1416 = 1436 Enter 1436 into the speedometer. If tires are 18.5 then enter 1476 (469.9mm * 3.1416)

8.5 ...... huh???
the settings are based on wheel/tire diameter size. Try this: K3PGP - Experimenters Corner - Schwinn 12 Function Bicycle Computer Manual |

I have my Schwinn chart. Can you give me the diameter of an 8 1/2 inch wheel? I can give you the number off of my chart.

![]() At the risk of stating the obvious.... If the number you have in the speedometer is 1476, that means the cart travels 1476 mm when the wheel rotates one time. If your speedometer is reading higher than your real speed, it means the cart is NOT REALLY travelling that far for each rotation. Reduce that number to say 1400 and check, repeat until you have it nailed. Another showery day, lucky I golf tomorrow ....
