Default Today I Met A Real Hero

Sometimes we take life for granted and this morning was no different. I played pickleball until about 10am, then, a small group of friends and I went to Bob Evans for breakfast. When finished we headed for the cashier to pay and leave. When I got to the front of the restaurant, there, in his wheel chair, was one Bryan Anderson, who is chronicled on the front page of the Local section of The Daily Sun. Being that I had earlier read the article, I was well aware of his story. I immediately approached him a explained how honored I was to meet someone as inspiring as he and thanked him for his sacrifices. His effervescent smile and attitude makes one proud be around him; if only for a short time. In my remaining years, I will never meet someone as heroic and inspiring as Bryan; unless it's another injured war vet. He is the spokesperson for "USA Cares" for which I intend to find out how to contribute to their cause. I hope some of you out there get the same chance to meet him while he is here. He is speaking to a sold out house at Colony Cottage Recreation Center this evening. He will change your life too.

Default A real hero

We were at the The Duprees Concert last night and I had the pleasure of meeting Bryan Anderson. A true american hero. He certainly is an inspiration to many of us. He was nice enough to sign his Esquire cover and give a nice note to my niece who is currently serving on an aircraft carrier somewhere in the Pacific. We have supported Wounded Warriers for some time now we will also support USA Cares.

Default USA Cares

I am a volunteer with this group. To contribute (thank you) please mail a check made out to "USA Cares" and mail to Rich Sobieray at 1829 San Gabriel Street, The Villages 32159. If you want to contact Rich: rich2122@embarqmail.com.

Rich and his wife started the first Florida chapter for USA Cares in the Villages last year. They generously donated their own money to get everything started and continue to put all their heart and soul into this group. They truly have hearts of gold.

If you would like to volunteer with this group, we meet the 2nd Friday of each month at 9am in Laurel Manor. However, there will be no January meeting.
