Default Tolls from the Orlando airport

Does anyone know what the cost of car tolls is from Orlando Intl to Wildwood?
Also any private airport shuttle services for 4 adults?
Trying to decide if it would be cheaper to do a one-way car rental from Enterprise.

Thanks in advance

Tolls are now $5 each way, if you use the turnpike all the way to Wildwood (exit 304). Only $3.75 if you exit for US27. But that forces a long drive up US27 through Leesburg, etc.

Lots of folks report that they rent a one-way from Enterprise. Apparently, that is less expensive than The Villages shuttle. I've taken to driving my own car o Orlando when I have to fly out of the state, unless I expect to be gone more than 10 days.

Here's one thing I will never understand about TV. Why do so many people go back and forth via Orlando rather than Tampa?
Why do people think it's faster or easier to go to Orlando? Tampa is a few miles longer but the toll stops to Orlando alone make the trip the same in elapsed time.
Why don't people consider the 0 tolls to Tampa a significant factor compared to the $12 (not $10) round trip tolls to Orlando?
Do folks know that there are two major highways into the Tampa airport and if you must go during peak hours when I-275 is slow you can get off I-75 at HWY 54, and go west to HWY 589 then directly south to the airport? There are a couple of small tolls on 589 but I have never seen a traffic jam except in the last half mile at the airport entrance. There is only one practical way into Orlando and if you hit the traffic you will crawl for miles.
Finally, maybe it's me, but as often as I've made the trip to both airports, I am convinced the roads to Tampa are safer and the drivers more sane. I only care to drive to Tampa and if we have visitors who must land in Orlando I recommend they take the shuttle.

Airlines being what they are, costs for flights to Orlando are often less expensive than Tampa and more frequent.

Another option is to buy a Sun Pass $5.00 for a Sun Pass sticker that can only be used on one car or $25.00 for a remote that can be moved from car to car. My tolls yesterday from Wildwood were $2.00/.50/.50 or $3.00 each way.

Theres a lot of truth to what everyone has said here and I have done them all. Orlando has more fights but sometimes Tampa works better etc etc etc. The fixed car "Sunpass" for 5 bucks is a good buy and ends up saving one some money. Shuttle works better sometimes but like last night it's a good thing to have a friend like F16 who picked me up at midnight in Orlando. No shuttles and car rentals were totally sold out. Every travel situation has different requirements so look at all the options. Makes travleing so interesting ( I think)

For my Buddy F16

Thanx for all the prayers, my son is on the mend and I'm "back in the bubble again"

It is about 25-30 miles longer going to Tampa (measuring from the south side of the Villages) and I personally find driving the Turnpike safer and more enjoyable than I-75 so Orlando is my first choice. With the SunPass you get a discount on the tolls and zip right through the toll booths.

PS.... welcome back Handie; glad to hear your son is getting better; the "bubble" is more like steam these days (and I like hot weather!!!)

I recently encountered horrendous traffic going to the Tampa airport although I did not know the roads suggested in the posting. I go to the Orlando airport every week and only once had traffic and that was due to an accident on the turnpike. Having a Sunpass transponder is critical though. For non-business travel when I have company visit I recommend the Villages Shuttle.

Default We prefer Tampa airport

We prefer picking up grandchildren and flying out of Tampa. It seems easier for us to get to and no tolls.

If I take the shuttle, I make reservations through Orlando. I always check price difference. Usually, I don't see much difference.

Default Tolls from OIA

Using 528 West to the Turnpike and then Turnpike to Exit 304 the toll is $5.00
I have a Sunpass, (gets a discount), just made a round trip last week and was charged $8.00 for both ways. If you are going to travel the turnpike often, I recommend getting a Sunpass, the cost varies depending on type you get $4.99 to $28.00.

Have a great day.
