Go over to Crystal River and swim with manatees. Google it for acomplete list of vendors who offer day trips.

Go to Silver Springs State Park for glass bottom boat rides. Disabled veterans can get a lifetime free entry pass to Florida state parks which covers them plus 3 others. The pass is free!

Volunteer at one of the area soup kitchens or food pantries in Wildwood or Lady Lake to show there is poverty nearby and we are blessed to be in The Villages.

Discovery Kayak Tours. Several tours weekly, some in Manatee waters.
found at www.discoverykayaktours.com
Good equipment, good guiding and tours some interesting old Fla. rivers and back channels.
Last year we did a manatee tour and saw and experienced a lot more manatees than those on the dives. Less expensive too and you don't get wet. Kayaked over and thru (safely and slowly) at least 150 manatees and many babies during the trip. They were swimming through out the river and not just bunched where the divers were allowed. (seemed like only 3 or 4 were in the roped off dive areas).

Only if they do a good job, then it's 15% but not on the tax.
