If you have signed up for the Code Red alert on your cell phone, you should remember that they will call you no matter where you are. Mr. Judy got the call at 3 AM in Utah. Hahaha!

A tornado watch is issued when weather conditions are favorable for the development of tornadoes in and close to the watch area.

A tornado warning is an alert issued by government weather services to warn an area that a tornado may be imminent. It can be issued after either a tornado or funnel cloud has already been spotted, or if there are radar indications that a tornado may be possible.

According to this morning's Daily Sun, NOAA was running a test at the time and some of the warnings about the tornado got bypassed.

It's nice to have your cell phone registered. That way if you're playing golf you can still get the warning.

Default statewide tornado drill

Hope this helps everyone...
Practice makes perfect:
Statewide tornado drill Jan. 27

I'm posting a link to Florida's 2010 Severe Weather Awareness Guide.
On page 3 of the PDF file you can read about the statewide tornado drill scheduled for Jan. 27, 2010. I read in another article that county schools will be participating.

Default Radio Test - This Is Only A Test

My Weather Radio goes off every Wednesday during their weekly TEST. Then I know it's working correctly. Everyone should set up their radio for that.

The emergency I like the most is also programmed in my radio. It's the ICEBERG warning!
