I recommend Jeff at J and J Services for the repairs at 352-702-6376. He has many years exp. as a garage repairman and will do the job at a reasonable price.

That is CORRECT. I could not open my garage door with only 1 good spring.
I have a 1 1/2 car garage door. Next time I have any issues with my garage door I will cal Scott or Ryan. Thanks for the recomendation. Florida Garage Door Pro's charged me too much $530.00 for replacing 2 springs and a center plastic bearing. You live and learn. Some contractors think, if you live in the Villages your Rich and charge you more.

I made the mistake of suggesting that it looked to me like some homeowner had replaced one or the other because they weren't the same size. He got all huffy about his 20-years experience and how I was an idiot who didn't know what I was talking about, and then he proceeded to berate me for my ignorance for the next hour.

In the end, I got two difference size springs that weren't galvanized or color coded like the originals, and the sizes were hidden in back to discourage home owners from doing it themselves.

Next time, I'll call someone else.
Note that Romac typically uses two different length torsion springs on the garage doors that they install on new houses. One is about 12 inches shorter than the other one. I don't know why. On my house, the shorter spring broke. But, Ryan O'Cull installed two new identical springs, which were both the longer size. That seems to make more sense to me.

Used Branch garage door 407 #95-6538 for $200.00 in 2020 replaced all the cables, remounted sensors, repaired sensor wires, lubed the doors. Quick response to my phone call and work done same day.

Huh? If a torsion spring breaks, you will hear a loud noise, it will have a gap in it, and it cannot be tightened.

To the know it all's running your door with one spring is dangerous. It will ruin opener and damage door.If it disconnects from opener it will come down Hard. Change both springs the other will break and you pay another device charge. Springs have been in short supply and have gone up greatly in price. $325 is reasonable right now. I have been in the business 20 years.

Great tips … also not a bad idea to replace the cables.
