Default Another Adult Child ?

If an adult child lives too close to TV I understand there is no way they are allowed to use any of the amenities.....specifically if a son or daughter wanted to play golf with us.

Is that really the case?

If you know I would appreciate the advice as we have a child trying to decide on TV or NEAR by.

Thanx.

They can play golf but have to pay full guest price. At least that's my understanding.

Play on Silver Lake, Mira Mesa and De La Vista golf courses is reserved for golfers with resident privileges only. No guests are permitted on these courses.

Children, grandchildren and great grandchildren 19 yrs old or older can get a year pass if they live nearby. They must be accompanied by a Village resident to use the facilities. They pay to play the Executive courses just like regular guests and are not included in your trail fee. Younger children are allowed 30 days a year like all others. My son has the pass but is too busy working to use any of the facilities.

I don't want to sound too parochial or "exclusive", BUT.... my feeling is the amenities here are for residents and their visiting occasional guests. Notwithstanding any existing policy, I don't agree that "local guests", whoever they may be should have any privileges, paying or not.

Personally, I don't care to be paying amenities fees for the benefit of residents of other communities who chose NOT to come here because it was cheaper elsewhere.

Why do I say this? The pools, golf courses, rec centers, etc., have all been designed with a certain resident use load in mind. If each us brought a "guest" to the pool, think how quickly the facilities would be overloaded. Winter is a perfect example with all the family guests at the pools.

Our closest pool (Chatham) was at capacity on numerous occasions in recent weeks, and yes, we had our kids (visiting) there too, but it serves to underscore my point. Judging from the ages, 1 and up, not all the folks in the pool were Village residents.

If you have relatives that live in the tri county area you can get an in area guest pass and they can use any of facilities in the villages. You have to be with them at all times. The in area pass is good for one year. These passes are available at regional rec centers.

Just curious, was this a "family" pool?

My understanding is that children under the age of 30-something are not allowed in village pools, only family pools.

Yes, it was a family pool but it doesn't alter my point.

I'll reiterate my point about locla passes. Perhaps when TV was at 10-20,000 it was a nice idea, but I think at the larger population numbers, the guest thing could quickly overwhelm our facilities >.

Another thought, seeing as I am paying for my use of the amenities, how about the local guests pay an annual fee for their use of same. That might make me a little less grumpy

Captain, IMHO you make some valid points.

In Area guest Pass;

You have to be a relative of a village resident to be able to get a guest pass. You will have the same privileges as a regular guest would have All of you people that have questions about in area passes should go to the nearest regional rec center and get the answers. The in area pass is the same as a regular quest pass except you do not have to renew it every month. There ain't that many in area passes issued. May be we should not issue any guest passes to anybody.

From talking to some in TV administration, the guest passes that are abused are the regular day to day passes and those with no passes at all!!
The in area pass use is statistically insignificant out of the total guest passes issued (less than 500).

The problems stated in posts above are generally known to be created by:
the HUGE number of day to day visitors...plus a significant number who just waltz in...which number in the 1000's.....the TV residents who abuse the system....and a rather loose as well as non existent system of checking (except golf and rec centers).

The occasional use by an adult in the area family member is a mere twig tossed into an already well established, ongrowing fire.

This forum's diversity of outlook is always educational.
