Default Guests & pools

We have some friends staying with us. They have guest passes and have been told they can't swim laps in the adult pools.

The pool police who told them no laps, wanted to walk back and forth at the low end of the pool. So it's ok to walk laps, but now swim them?

I know they can't use the lap pools because there are guests, but where can guests swim laps?

adult pools DO NOT have rules that say you cannot walk or swim. You can do both without interfering with each other as long as the swimmer swims from side to side the short way: they don't have to swim the length of the pool!!!! Yes I know it is shorter but it is called compromise-you can't expect the walkers to walk all the way to the deep end! Come on people get along and use some common sense!

It disturbs the bobbers, adult pools in villages aren't made for swimming just floundering. That why there not called swimming pools. I feel your pain. how bout the family pools? Seems they would be more acceptable for actually swimming some or some movement in the water?

I guessing they can't get in combo swim times at the sports pools?

Tell your guests they would have a better chance of swimming laps the "long" way if they traveled North in The Villages to the pools less frequently used, or try to come to the pools early in the morning or during happy hours or feeding time.

"Sports" pools are for residents 30 years of age . Not guests. Sports pools are for sports & walking.

We have the same rules on the north side so they would be disappointed here also.

I swim laps every day when I am in TV in an adult pool by myself or with a friend. We are typically the only ones there. I can't tell you which pool, though, because that would ruin all my fun! Tee hee. Seriosuly if you travel to pools north of 466 A like GG suggested, you will have better luck...

All sports pools have comb swim times several times during the week. Comb swim means lanes for lap swimming and room for bobbers, hence combination swim. They also have times with all lap swimming, no sports or walking. And you can be over 30 years of age, WAY over.

And as a compromise the walkers cannot share lanes and walk shorter distances rather than walk into the "deep" end because..........

for some it would be over their head and for most it would not be comfortable walking in water up to your neck - specially if they have balance problems. Why can't a swimmer swim side to side in the deep end?

It is called an adult pool because of age not so you can't swim. Read the rules!!!

Family pools are for anyone with a guest pass, sports pools are only for residents, neighborhood pools can be used by anyone over the age of 30 with a guest pass.

But the same rules apply in family pools. If you are swimming laps you should give way to "walkers". Plus at family pols you might have to avoid a kid or two. Spending time at a family pool has convinced me to drive a bit further to an adult pool when kids are present.

I think that adults swimming laps should be allowed to do so, without interference from walkers.
I think walkers should clear a lane for lap swimmers.
Don't shoot me, it's just one opinion.
As a disclaimer, I don't swim laps and I'm not a walker either. I'm a bobbler.

if everyone walked and swam in the same direction there would be no interference-swimmers can swim in all parts of the pool-walkers really can't walk in the deep end that is why I suggested that they go width wise-everyone wins!!!!
I do walk in the pool about an hour a day but I also swim sometimes as many as 50 laps and I do not get in others way!
