Default Whole House Water Filtration Systems

I am looking for the best whole house water filtration system. Has anyone had one installed recently? How do you rate it?

You probably won’t need anything, in my opinion.

Agree, I have a filter for drinking water only.

I think water softners and filters are very much oversold in The Villages. I'm satisfied with the plain tap water.

The day we bought our house we had Nova come and install a whole house filter. $600 and worth it. I had read about how bad the Florida water was and coming from an area that had awesome water I wanted this done. If not for the filter I would be 100% water bottles but with the filter the water is great.

Depends on where you live. Our water smelled like a swimming pool overfilled with chlorine. Wife said that is bad for her hair. Got a Nova system and that odor and all the other crap in it is gone plus no more expensive fridge filters. Happy wife, happy life! Which reminds me, time for yearly filter change. Photo was from last year IIRC.

The water in Florida is NASTY! The first thing we're going to do after Tim Miller epoxies our floor is have Nova come out and install a whole house filter system.

Puronics. I rate it a 10. Crystal clear water like from a mountain spring. . No more funny taste. I highly recommend it.

Nova system. Inexpensive and the water no longer has any smell and is crystal clear. Highly recommended.

Granted, I installed a NOVA and have not tried any other than a brita or the refrigerator ones so cannot compare. I think the water here is fine without but did not like the taste and am happy I did it. There is some hardness in the water but not enough to make me put in a water softener, which takes up a lot of room in the garage.

Like a number of other post we got a Nova system. We bought a turnkey property in 2016 and it had a carbon based filter. The Nova system has been a much better system. It cost around $130 per year for the filters to be changed.

I know the thread is about filtration but I assume they'll try to sell you a water softener as well. It's supposed to help prevent pipe damage, but I don't like the feel of it on the skin, never feel like I'm fully rinsed with that.

Hone Depot or Lowe's has everything you will ever need! These guys that sell elaborate filtration systems are just taking your hard earned money! Learn to change the filter yourself.. it's EASY

Not cheap but can negotiate price. Water is best and lifetime filter media.
