'He/she said it was ok' is fine but those words are trumped by signage or govt. statute.

Look at my signature block, do you think I have not already looked for something writing? If you have something, please post it.

That was my original point with you! YOU said there is no policy you can find to say you 'cannot' do it. I'm saying show me where it says you can...do it?! Thats what you always ask of others here.

You got some on another thread throwing gate attendants under the proverbial bus....and here you all are dry snitching on rec center employees trying to be nice and avoid drama. Great lessons learned here

Second, when the rec centers want to shut down poker because of the gambling their justification is you can't gamble in Govt. owned buildings in Florida. This also indicates the rec centers are owned by a CDD.

There might be a "property of Jacobs" sign on the dumpster or there might be Jacobs advertising on the dumpster but the dumpster was provided for use by the rec center. Rec center rules would apply and ALL we have to go on so far are multiple reports that the rec center has said it is ok to use the dumpster for the small amount of trash described in this thread.
Maybe my thinking is skewed, but the town squares are public property because they are open to the public. But, the rec centers are private property because you need a Villages ID card to enter them. I'll still bet you a dollar that no Villages department will state in writing that Villagers have permission to use the rec center dumpsters for household trash.

You’re probably right. At this point I’m going to take “yes” for an answer and not ask any questions I don’t want an answer to.

Good idea, you ask 5 people and you get 5 different answers/interpretations.

When you see them lock the dumpsters like they do in your mid Atlantic states and mine as well, you'll know it got abused. And it will. Who else can tell you it's okay if not the people working there?

And if you read the thread (like I do), you'd know we're talking about disposing on trash if you're leaving on a "non-trash day"... Not because they "missed their pickup"...

Not a massive amount of trash, typically a day or two, since trash is picked up twice a week...

But you're juvenile insult is noted...

What "signage or government statue" is in play here?

I saw no signs when I dropped of my small bag of trash...

"Dry snitching"?

Sure... I gave a name and description of the people, and ratted them out...

Oh, and I also named the rec center and the community watch person I spoke with...

Oh wait, no I didn't...

Exactly! No signs, no written guidelines, permission given (at least three separate times), no problem.

I dont know what municipality you live in in MD but "since trash is picked up twice a week' here...i maybe could understand your premise if it was picked up once a week. Again, ask a neighbor unless the entitlement itch really gets to you because 'you pay for the rec centers trash fees'!

btw, 'juvenile insult'....based on your activity on this forum, that comment is a badge of honor!

You didnt have to name names....its been documented for all to see that it was employee's of two different departments. Damage done
They take enough hits on this forums threads. Sometimes youre better off saying nothing in cases like this

From the guy who came in "guns a blazin'" from the day he joined, that's rich...

Have I ever asked to leave trash with a neighbor? Yes I have.

Our trash is picked upMonday and Thursday. We typically clean out the fridge Thursday morning of everything except what we'll need for Thursday night and Friday (we typically go out to dinner the night before we leave).

But when I'm leaving at the crack of dawn on a Saturday morning, I won't bother them with the few things we still need to throw out.

Maybe YOU feel entitled enough to do that, but personally, I'd rather not be a pest...

Now feel free to continue your little "p*ssing contest"...
