And here we have another posting by a person who seemingly has NO idea how our community operates. The Districts don't handle anything about deed violations unless there is a complaint. Why is that so hard to grasp?? No complaint, no action to enforce the rules. Period.

I received a two week time out for something someone else did.. They even quoted the other poster's comment when they gave the reason. Go figure. Guess they have a difficult time having to police the many comments.

They don't read every post. They typically react when a post is reported...

One important thing: The CDD should not be involved in the process of selling a home. The deed-compliance inspection should be between the buyer and the seller, it shouldn't be a document that needs a signature from CDD (or Community Standards).

I disagree, they make the rules, they need of up hold them before some poor sap buys house and now could be faced with $$$$$ do overs. Read several horror stories when new owners got troll write up after they moved in.

Their job is to make the rules and enforce them when someone breaks them(if it's reported to them)...... not to do someones DUE DILIGENCE when buying a preowned house.

LOL, like new buyers going to know every rule in 13 district’s.

Not taking about lawn ornaments, but property upgrades that was approved or done by home owner. when resale house comes on market IMO Again IMO it should be IAW that district compliance. It’s set of requirements above titles searches and ordinances.

You would think the agent would be aware of any violations before trying to sell it, especially a Villages agent.

Or a Building Inspector you would hire(as part of your due diligence). We need to accept some responsibility too. Can't blame the world when something goes wrong all the time.

I guess I couid be accused of being a troll. I met with a golf cart (green, not red) with two other white haired ladies out on the street about three days ago. We perused the property in front of us, pointed at it several times, took copious notes, had lengthy serious discussion. At one point I actually walked up closer to the home to see the object more clearly & make more notes. The object in question was our neighborhood AED unit. We’re all three on the neighborhood AED team. Our inspection included checking our keys to the lock, checking the solar lighting system for access in the dark, checking for unobstructed path to the equipment. I suppose we could have been suspected as being “trolls.” But —- CDD 5 refuses anonymous complaints.

Don't know why you quote me in your reply, but your post makes sense and thanks for being on the AED team.

I plan to volunteer when I'm finally a FROG...

I have been known to talk to myself from time to time, but I can usually figure out what I'm saying..... not so true with a few posters here. Hence my SIGNATURE below.
