as if it could'nt get any worse. there has been damage to the bridge this morning and either it was caused by the crane currently stuck under the bridge...or the crane is holding up the bridge???....either way it's chaos over there and the long way round is now the only option....just a taste of years of pain at this intersection....

IMO Florida road construction is probably worse in any state I’ve been. IMO Takes years to complete even small projects like 484/I-75 interchange. Just look how long 441 through and around lady lake been going on? If 301 mess is anything close to other road project most of us be dead before gets completed IMO….

I wonder if driver got CDL from cala? See lot 18 wheeler loads hit lot bridges in Florida. I would think driver would be required to know height of load and most states have height clearness on bridges? At least in most states I was in they did?

Thanks for information, heading to Gainesville Monday and Disney Tuesday. Looks like head up 44 to 1-75 Monday and south to 470 on Tuesday.

Sadly post doesn’t give any info on current issues. Just complaint on how road construction is handled, not emergency at 301 and Turnpike

Imagine now if there is a accident on I-75 that has to re-route traffic to 301 via 470 east or 44 east or on the turnpike between 470 and 301 that has to re-route traffic either into Leesburg or west on 470 which happens quite frequently, all of Wildwood will be a parking lot.

the damage from the crane has been "repaired" with what looks like black tar paper....and "15ft clearance" has been spray painted onto the bridge in bright orange....
