Drag racers are having a big problem with overall length. Some of there guys are well over 70 feet. Some have stacker trailers holding 2 or 3 cars and a golf cart. For the most part they do not have CDL as they are towing with a "motor home". North Carolina seems to be cracking down on them and if they find that they are making money or can even possible make money from their racing they are being ticketed. Many carry the DOT regulation book with them with the pages marked in case they are stopped. The guys that travel to California to race will try and hit the scales at night in hopes that they are closed. One year there was a race in California a week after on in Washington. The state DOT was waiting at the border and made a killing on fines. Word got out and the late travelers received word of what was going on and got off the interstate and took the back roads.

Some guys will tow a 32 foot trailer with a Pervost and that takes up a lot of room.
