I have had this happen several times and it annoys me.
I may organize a group of similarly annoyed people, recruited from this site, with the intention of collecting them all and dumping them on the doorstep of The Daily Sun offices and let them pick them up and deal with the mess they created.

Are those others throughout your neighborhood incompetent or severely disabled? Are they not capable of calling the Daily Sun and telling them to pause delivery between [date 1] and [date 2]?

And if YOU are noticing this, what's stopping YOU from picking up their paper and moving it out of the line of sight to the street on their behalf?

My neighbors usually call to pause service. Sometimes they forget. So we all look out for each other, and usually bring the paper under the carport and stack them on the bench, or in a bin next to their door. If they're gone longer than a couple of weeks we'll call them on the phone and let them know they need to pause service, and give them the Sun's phone number.

This isn't rocket science or brain surgery. It's just being a good neighbor.
