I agree that the thread has strayed. Like most threads do. My post said that they are thinking of going to an electronic copy of the bill but it will not be any time soon. Maybe 2014. Until then I scan the VCDD bill and save it to a file and shred the paper one.

Just an FYI: Do you occasionally try to read the discs? With the changes in technology I have found that some of my old discs are unreadable.

A Community Development District is a public non-profit unit of local government with the special purpose of providing the services described above.

Both are non-profit.

I'm reviving this thread, as I never saw a resolution to this back in 2012. I have been paying the VCDD utility bill automatically (no action required by me) -- that is wonderful -- but that is also NOT the issue that the first person in this thread was writing about. My problem not that my bills aren't paid automatically -- it is that I'm still getting PAPER sent to my home. I've spent hours on the districtgov site trying to get this changed, and nothing works. I'd like to stop the paper and only use electronic means of getting me the information (e.g., via email, or through an online site). Anyone solved this problem yet?

Have you called VCDD and asked them if the bill is available electronically?
I thought it was supposed to happen some time in 2014.
I'm sure they will let us know when electronic bills are available,
and give us the option of going paperless.

There was a question on the 2014 Villages Survey as to the VCDD bill going paperless. If I remember correctly it was one of those would you want it or not questions.

Our VCDD bill is the only bill that I have automatically taken out of my checking account. It is so much easier when traveling. I have never had a problem with it.

Like everyone else, I am inundated with paperwork. I am curious about scanning the bill to a file and then shredding the paper copy. What if your computer crashes? Do you use a backup device? I bought a backup drive and it works on my mom's computer but for some reason doesn't back up my Windows 7. I need to call the company but I hate to call Customer Service.

Sorry about hijacking the thread, but I'm curious.-- probably because I'm filing paperwork this morning!

I backup certain volatile folders to a second hard drive weekly and most of my folders to an external hard drive monthly. I use a basic batch file process that I created to do this. I bought a 2T external hard drive but cannot get it to backup my W7 system yet. Still working on it.

Teco is another monthly bill where e-bill hasn't been available, but stated it would become available sometime in 2014. I can't wait. Hope these businesses read this thread!

All my TECO bills are e-bills and have been for years. They send me an email every month and I sign on to the site and download the PDF to a file.

You have to create an account with TECO and tell them you do not want paper.

We receive our paper VCDD bill, pay it, file it and drop the check off at our mailbox/pool area. Not a big deal.

Yeah, it's not a big deal if you live here year round, but if you go north for the summer you've got to be constantly changing your address with them and risking delayed payment costs if the bill doesn't get forwarded in time.

This is so byzantine. Everybody in the WORLD has e-bills.

We never change our address with VCDD. We just have our mail forwarded to Canada.
Our bill is automatically deducted each month from our bank account.
So when we're up north, we never have to worry about late payments.

But I agree with CFrance, it's dark ages. Most utility companies have electronic billing.
