Default Verbal assault on golf course

Background to yesterdays post regarding golfing on executive course after last tee time.

After inquiring if it is allowable to golf after last tee time of day ( both at the trail fee office and the starter a few days prior and both said it was fine), we arrived at the tee box about 715 pm- there were a few other waiting. After the 6th hole we noticed the other that were ahead of us were gone and we caught up to a very slow group. They were hitting 3 and 4 ball off of the tee each, playing all of the balls and sitting in their cart for about 3 minutes after leaving the green.
On the 8 hole after they started to leave in their cart and rounded the bend, I hit my shot. He slammed on the brakes and started cursing at me for "hitting into them". His wife then informed us that they booked the last tee time and no one was allowed behind them. I told them we inquired and was told it was ok to do this and having the last tee time does not make it their own personal practice range. Again was cursed at .It felt like they were being slow on purpose , then making you believe they were going to the next hole and then stopping their cart in an effort to stir trouble. . I feel the other groups between us had the same experience and probably just left.

Bad luck to run into a few jerks. You could find out from the starter sheet who they are

If they were that slow, then a spot was open in front of them. Just skip a hole. Problem solved.

There are entitled jerks everywhere.

But in all honesty, we've lived here for the better part of a year now and the only part about jerkiness in The Villages is really how RARE the jerks are. I can remember only two, and they were not major incidents at all--more likely someone just having a bad day. I've found that overwhelmingly, people treat you the same way you treat them.

Because one of those solutions does not solve the problem and the other solves it for exactly one group. Neither is good for getting the word out and educating others.

Posting on this forum may let the other group know what they did was improper (if they read this), will let others know that this kind of thing happens, and will let others know that this behavior (believing your last tee time means you own the course) is improper.

It was also good to see the confirmation, from two official sources, that on the Executive courses play is still allowed after the last tee time.

Confirmation bias is real; I can find any number of articles that say so.

So you hit a golf shot that endangered the people in front of you?

If so, then you deserve to have them yell and curse at you.

"People treat you the same way you treat them." These posts we only get one side of the story. Posts, i didn't realize I was wrong are rare indeed.

"Entitled jerks are everywhere," that too is true, not just in the Villages of in Florida.

I believe the OP stated he hit AFTER THEY LEFT THE GREEN AND ROUNDED THE BEND. He did not hit it AT them or ENDANGER them, at least not according to his post.

You are wrong. The OP did not state that.

The OP said the golfers in front of him "started to leave"'.

It sounds like the golfers were still 'in range' when the OP hit his shot. In that case, I think the golfers were totally justified to yell and curse at the OP.

It is terrible to hit a golf ball and intentionally endanger another person.
