POA is rarely wrong----their take on this is a bit of surprise.

In the snowbird neighbor's driveway most of the year.

I live in a villa. Unfortunately, the extra parking spots are used by owners living closest to the spots for their second car and they are never empty long enough for a guest to use. Just the way it is.

We sold our CYA, because we wanted more garage and driveway space. But when we had a CYA, I asked Community Watch about the parking lots. They told us the parking lots were ONLY for guests and never for owners! They said they check the parking lots regularly to make sure that owners aren't parking there.

Was this a while ago? One of our villa residents called community watch and they said they no longer enforce the "guest" parking, making it a free for all. We have about 70 villas and only 7 guest spots. They are full 99% of the time with resident's extra cars/trucks/motorcycles/etc.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out 7 spaces cannot accommodate everyone that lives here.

Here is a simple solution if in fact guests are the only ones that should park there: Any vehicle that is parked there must have a easily visible copy of the guest's ID on the vehicle. (Of course the way around that is to have "fake" guests here all the time.)

That's just rude. The extra spaces are for guest parking. Folks should not take advantage. Buy a house that will accommodate your vehicles or put one in a storage facility.

Since when can community watch make that type of decision?

Yes, it was a while ago that Community Watch said they check Guest Parking Lots to ensure that residents aren't using them for overflow parking. At that time, Community Watch told us they check the license plate numbers every few days to make sure no-one parks there for more than a week or two. Obviously they've changed their position.

We found that juggling vehicles was a PITA, especially if we had company visiting. I loved our CYV, but we moved to get a larger garage and more parking.

Is parking in the street allowed then? There are cars parked on the street while the owner's driveway is empty. Hmmmm The street becomes congested very quickly.

With some Villas a Golf Cart Garage can be added: Costs around $15,000 ++
