I not sure why the Boom. Not sure why anyone would enjoy "telling everyone" something that might bother them. People who move to a 55 plus retirement community expect to find people there who are 55 plus. Or ten fifteen years under sometimes..Even though most of us love kids and younger people too, you just don't expect to find a bunch of people in their twenties or thirties in an age restricted retirement community.. Although it may be legal for much younger people to live here, the community was planned for the day to day enjoyment of people who are over the age of 55. People who are that age will be in the overwhelming majority and those who are a lot younger may be met with surprise. I would expect some surprise and some questions if I rented a room in a college dorm.

But I know they would grow to love me.

Instead of trying to argue semantics, I think it is highly improbable that a 19 year old would buy a house in The Villages. If they did, so what? They pay taxes and amenity fees just like you. They could not be at a neighborhood pool and I am never at a family pool.

Don't sweat the petty stuff - and don't pet the sweaty stuff.

I also wonder, like Gracie, why someone would love to tell people that under 55's can buy houses here. Do some people just like to argue as their form of enjoyment?

Why does this thread go on and on and on? NO, children under the age of 19 cannot live in The Villages. Young people age 19 and over can live here and can even own houses here.There ARE some subdivisions outside The Villages where people can live with young children. They are not part of The Villages. Period. Period. Period.

Gracie- You would be LOVED AT VIRGINIA TECH--My step-son is looking for a roomie

As far as why I LOVE to tell people--because they make such a big deal about me being young and living here. So- I do educate other residents. I think it is a great place to live and I have met a ton of great people in TV and on this website.

Seems like toning it down a bit might be a good idea... less in-your-face stuff. I don't really see anyone being overly upset about how young or old others are .
