Good decision! I've been drinking TV water since 1999 and enjoy great health. (Actually, I've been drinking Florida well-water since 1969.)

There's always a lot of concern about drinking water and I don't blame anyone for being concerned. If only people would be as concerned about all the other stuff they put in their mouth.

I drink filtered tap but has anyone seen the ad for 'zero water'? Maybe this would be a cheaper alt than bottled if you are so inclined.

I will be looking forward to the 2011 report. Very bad, and I believe it was
Lady Doc who reported it as 2.1 on a list of 10 as the highest and best score.
I've lived in Florida for nearly 40 years, I've not seen this low a mark on water quality in those years. When I got out of my shower this a.m. I thought I was standing in a swamp. Can't let this continue without calling the water quality people in...shocking, and shocked. And the smell is horrible.
Not smart to say we see lots of people walking, upright in TV, we don't really know how much this bad water situation in some of the villages might be
impacting health on an ongoing basis. I wish the developer didn't own the
water supply in my village...am afraid I might be put on an ice floe like the old
eskimo's if I complain. Very bad marks, very bad 'stuff' in the water in Duval, at least.

Could you post a link to the report you're talking about if possible. The last report I got from them looked fine.

On that site you choose the utility you are looking for by zip code. The
report from North Sumter Utilities is listed there with all of the carcinogens.
I haven't lived here long enough to have recieved a report from the utility
itself, but I hope someone with a report would compare it to what that site
reports. I don't believe everything I read, but the taste and smell of the water in my house is horrible. And, I've lived in Florida for nearly 40 years,
this is the worst, worst, worst. As I said, my dogs won't even drink it!

I found the site but I also don't have my last report from them. I remember that I wasn't alarmed when I did read it.

As I said earlier I'm from MA and even though every up here loves the water (as do I), I don't notice much issue with the taste and smell of the tap water in TV but I do drink it filtered. The irrigation water smell on the other hand....

in addition to the taste and smell is whether the report/s from Homefacts
differ from those of the Utility itself. That would be very interesting.
Not saying the developer is with holding information critical to health and
safety, but wondering how two reports might differ. The one on Homefacts, I think, is the same one Lady Doc noted about 2.1 on a scale to 10. I'm
just one HO saying, "Ugh", but it feels like people have spent lots of dollars
working around the 'problem'. It would seem to me the developer ought to
be helping those of us with cruddy water.

While I looked at the house obviously, had an inspection prior to making an
offer, I didn't taste the water, nor did the inspector mention he did...or the
odor emanating. Could be the best kept secret,but not a good one, Russ.
I'll be looking for the report whenever it is published.

It shows Gary Morse as head of the North Sumter Utility, does that mean it
is a public or private utility? Do you know?

I don't know.

But the site says the reports are from 2004-2008. Much of the area developed below 466 was after that time including my area of Buttonwood. As I said I have no complaints about smell or taste but I would have concerns if contaminants were present in abundance.

My water out of the tap smells of bleach...sometimes slightly and sometimes hugely and usually that depends on the outdoor temperature. It never smells of swamp or of anything putrid. The water outside does...and frequently. It IS reclaimed water that we use for watering the lawn.

The filtered water from the refrigerator tastes fine.

My response about people walking around not sick was to the post about microorganisms which cause the obvious and right away.

Is the report from Homefacts from 2004-2008? My home in Hadley wasn't built until 2008.

People who sell expensive water systems have a lot to gain.

AND I am very suspicious of what they say.

Gracie and others. This may sound dumb but can that irrigation water be running into the aquifers? After all the number of Golf courses and Homes are growing right?

I must say some of us have the medical reasons to not be ingesting anything into our bodies that causes the filtering system to work over time.

Gracie with the up most respect I have several friends who were walking around up right and having a great time and then died from paint solvents or Dairy Farm chemicals that built up in their body and killed them well before retirement time.

On national TV many years ago they ran a story of Florida residents that were getting very sick . It was traced back to water from shower heads that entered a person sinuses thru the nose. It some cases it was very very bad infection!

Our Cortland NY Aquifers were deemed safe yet people were getting cancer here. Companies that let chemicals run into the Citys drinking supply. Of course they bailed out of town and now manufacture your home goods in Mexico!

I want to enjoy TV and I think for me the answer will come only when I get there and have the water tested. It seems like most of us have picked a camp on this topic. Ignor it or fix it.

I still revert back to my mentors in automotive college. They said don't be a xpert! A xpert is this. A X is a HAS BEEN and a SPURT is a drip under constant pressure. "Test Don't Guess!

(It that is what was happening it probably was MOLD, that by it's nature grows in hidden dark places and shower heads are such places...spraying them weekly with bleach should fix that)

I just had a birthday in November and I was born in 1939.

I have had cancer once ...when I lived in Ohio.

It takes a while for carcinogens to work on you. I probably have 30-40 good years left.

And, whatever is said about the Morse conglomerate, and their mountains of dough is that they have the cash and can fix almost anything in order to make more mountains of dough. I imagine that they can have some really dandy folks who install diatomese paste filters and can hire a chemist or two every once in awhile to test the water and keep it as clean as most in the U.S.

PLUS. None of us are really young and having children and ain't none of us are gettin' out of here alive.

The Morses may be pouring lead and arsenic into the water and chortling madly like the Republicans they are...

But they may be taking care of business too.

I see your aquifer and I raise you one osmosis.
