I wish everybody would do the same. Can't believe the number of post where it's so obvious the poster has not taken the time to read the entire thread before commenting on the topic.Trish ,you perceptively summed up the feelings of the vast majority of the villagers,at least i hope that's how they feel.

I don't believe it. If that were true, then everyday after work all the construction workers would be diving in the pool.

No - you'll find them at the bar getting those free drinks.

Maybe this will make a few things more clear. My wife is an employee. She recieves what is called a "Dreammaker" card. This gives her the discounts that a few have mentioned as well as playing at the country clubs at the resident rate. It will also get us into Katie Belles and a few other discounts. We can't use it at pools or that kind of stuff. We have an In-Area guest ID for those things!

So if I read the last post correctly (the man whose wife works in TV and has a "Dream Card")...folks who don't live in TV, but work here, have this. Otherwise folks who live here--the average person--and works in TV all pay the aminities just as I do. THAT to me is more than fair in both instances. I do not think it offensive at all and who knows--one day perhaps they too can buy a place here and enjoy the life-style.

SOOO many posts on this link (i'm referring to TOTV link) give the idea that "it's all about me" or "whose out to get me". It reminds me a bit of when we were in school back in the day and Teacher would make an announcement of some kind and there was always a kid or two who'd say (insert a whine) "THAT'S not fair!"

I work for The Villages. I am paid minimum wages. I pay my monthly annutity fees and annual trail fees like all other Villages. I get NO perks as far as tee times. I am charged points like all other golfers and get no special privledges as far as getting reservations. We do get some perks such as 1/2 price for golfing on Championship courses and a modest discount at the golf shops.

Did a follow-up email to Janet Tutt regarding the "Dreammaker Card".

The Dreammaker card has Nothing to do with amenities. It does allow access to Katie Belles which is privately owned, does allow access to championship course at discount which is privately owned. This has nothing to do with amenities.

OK, so a TV homeowner going to Katie Belle's and showing ID card is called what? Perk of ownership? I only ask this so I know what to tell my friends about KB's when I buy in TV.

When will you be buying................what to tell them may change by then.
The whole point of JT's email is that this has nothing to do with amenities.

So if you didn't get a tee time, maybe a Villages employee did. The person in the pool next to you may get the use of the pool as part of their compensation package.

Can't do anything about it, but I don't know if it quite sits right with me.

What are your thoughs?
This had to be a miscommunication from the guy who doesn't live in TV, but seems to know so much about it! LOL! (I don't mean you, Dirigo, in a later post you mentioned a guy from Leesburg).

My husband has worked for one of the businesses in TV for two years (a biz owned by TV) and, trust me, he does NOT get any special perks...nor do the other 40-odd people he works with. They are LUCKY if they get paid over minimum wage.

His pension covers the regular monthly expenses, the little TV job pays for our extras: eating out, going to movies, traveling up north to see the family, etc.

I've just scanned the first 20 or so items in this thread, and had to add something before it goes viral!

Janet Tutt spoke at our Airheads Support Group this morning (Tue 2/28). She told of getting a call recently from someone who'd heard that all Villages employees are entitled to access all the amenities.

She was adamant in her denial of this falsehood. Even she and her husband are denied access.

She did admit, however, that many employees do have access. BUT ONLY BECAUSE THEY ARE RESIDENTS!
