According to the website: Voter Fraud Map: Election Fraud Database | The Heritage Foundation there have been 1334 documented cases of voter fraud going back almost 20 years and so far 1147 have been convicted.

If you search a year and or state under the case is a drop down it describes the crime and in many cases reveals the persons registered affiliation.

Interesting is another Forum post 2 days ago about the 3 Villagers indicted for voter fraud....yes they were indicted was "closed" by the moderators after only 5 posts.
Yet there were several hundred posts about Ed McGinty, and that forum is still open.
Seems the people with their finger on the switch are not willing to allow posts that are critical of one but censure posts critical of 3.
I'll let the intelligent Villager read between the lines to determine what topic ties Ed with the other 3.

I thought this thread was going to describe the more blantant attack on our democracy—the arrest and indictment of the two new Sumter County commissioners elected in 2020. They had campaigned on an anti-Developer platform centered on the reversal of the 25% increase in county property taxes and were elected in a landslide.

State law says that the Governor can replace local officials who face criminal charges. So watch for the two duly-elected commissioners replacement by the Governor. The Developer is a major campaign contributor to the Governor, so look for the replacement of the two new, duly-elected commissioners with people friendly to the Developer’s proposals. Expect your property taxes to take a major increase. And watch for a reversal of decisions rejecting construction of rental apartments throughout The Villages.

The Sumter County Commission will soon be returned to being lackeys to the Developer, as it has been for many years. This “complaint” against the two new commissioners is the most blantant attack on our local democracy, unimaginable really. In the short time since the election, the Developer has exerted its considerable financial resources to overturn the votes of Sumter County voters. Your vote meant nothing!

That’s the story I thought would be discussed in this thread.

If Colbert was funny then people would laugh. Colbert's monologue was very bad, sorta like the comedians I saw at Lazy Macs.

I am going to take a chance here with a segue to a suggestion for something to read.

If you are open to taking the time to read something that might cause long, hard thinking, may I suggest doing a search, a Google, with the words — “The Atlantic January 2022.”

If you do this, the chilling cover of the issue will probably be the first thing you see, followed by several articles that illuminate our country’s dangerous issues. I think you can read some of it without subscribing. It could be worth buying a hard copy. This issue is sadly historic.

I have been called names on TOTV by those who assume I am what they call me. It might surprise them to know that I am not who they think I am. “It was my party and I’ll cry if I want to.”

One of my home state’s senators is not running again. He is of the party most popular with TV voters. He is a decent man. I have voted for him in the past. I know someone who knows him. But he is giving up. We are losing our decent politicians to be replaced by stupid puppets that have no idea what democracy means, nor do they care.

While I am at it, may I explain the irony of invoking Orwell’s 1984 as a battle cry. Those who use it must not have read the book — because in the book, the country of Oceania is governed by a totalitarian regime, an all-controlling party — that has brainwashed the people into blind obedience to their leader — Big Brother.

This post is an appeal to the intelligence I can recognize in so many posters here — but I cannot figure out why intelligent people cannot see what is happening right before our eyes.

I sincerely hope some of you will decide to find The Atlantic, January 2022, read an article or two, and think about the depth and significance of what we are seeing as democracy — and decency — are dying — fast.

Also, if you can stand quite a peppering of “bad” words, look up Trae Crowder on YouTube and let him explain a few things.
