Hi Bonny: A poster wrote "I find stats interesting, Bogie, please keep them coming for those of us that feel there is more to this forum than complaining"

So if you follow the thread various posters presented their interpretation of what those statistics represented. But then this poster appears to form a judgment by ending comments with " "more to this forum than complaining
I did not view any comment from a poster's interpretation of the stats as complaining?

So, I politely asked this poster's clarification on complaining. The poster replied by deflecting. Fair enough

As to this thread itself the topic was an increase in passes. Depending on your nature ,one would respond differently. There are some folks that like to participate and some that like to observe. Are you suggesting that all those who participate are happy and never complain and that those who observe are chronic complainers?

There is a book which discusses the issue of sensitive people. I do not necessarily mean sensitive in easily offended but sensitive to noise, crowds, etc would you suggest that such people desire to avoid noise and crowds makes them chronic complainers, never happy?

In essence all I am suggesting is that this term "complainers" gets tossed around too easily as if the subject matter is one dimensional . And its a practice that gets too much play on this forum and a method of dismissing out of hand some poster's opinion or disagreement like he is a racist, a bigot, a chronic complainer . I too like a back and forth on a variety of topics but never have I accused a poster of being a complainer if they disagreed. By the way I have a great sense of humor have many friends and enjoy life. but my pet peeve on this forum is this overuse of "complainer" in an attempt to discredit posters.

Personal Best Regards:

What I got out of this post is that you have a pet peeve. I had three pet peeve's when I moved here and have lost one. It is my understanding that we are only allowed to have two pet peeve's if you live in The Villages. It's okay to have three when you move here but if you lose one you are NOT allowed to replace it.

I had a peeve once as a pet. I had to get rid of it because it continually pooped on my neighbor's yard.........................

I actually only wrote that in response to the sentence...
"Perhaps you would be so kind as to explain your definition of complaining vis a vis disagreement/and difference of opinion? And perhaps you would further qualify it with the difference between either it being legitimate or illegitimate?"
Wasn't really referring to any particular remarks on this thread. Just meant I like discussing things, just don't like constant complainers. All is good.

Why can't someone post a comment on stats without being criticized? I'm certain Bogie Shooter is more than capable of defending himself. We have learned a tremendous amount from this forum and Bogie has been one of the people that has helped us greatly. No, we have never met and probably never will. My question remains, why can't someone post something that may be of interest to few without someone "complaining" or if you prefer, criticizing the content..

I will now sign off for the time being and possibly come back to the forum at another time.

Where are the posts that "criticized" the stats?

How any one can celebrate a departure from that implied promise is surprising. Perhaps overcrowded streets, multi-modal paths, restaurants, stores, golf courses etc is someone's idea of a good time but to me there is this thing called over saturation. Beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder and many of us left congested cities for a more relax life style but for the previous four or five month I was just not feeling the love.

As to the economic benefit I do understand but The Villages and surrounding area has grown so much I suspect the year around population would sufficiently support the business community without many businesses missing a beat. And as to your personal investment does all of this add or subtract from it?

The saddest aspect of all is that build out continues ad nauseam

Cst la vie

Exactly. The implied promise missed. The never-ending construction that goes on and on....where shall it end.

Oops! Someone will call me a complainer because only THEIR opinion counts, not mine.

We were responsible for 13 guest passes justin March. We had 3 groups of family and friends
here for a total or 26 straight days in a row. The last group was my entire family including all grandkids for almost a week. We rented a big mini van and 3 seater golf cart. It was WONDERFUL!!!!!!!

Walter123: Well I only have one pet peeve but its a doozie because its become a national epidemic. So I am not apt to give it up.

You do know the difference between a critique and a criticism?
