Go easy. He's just renting for a month now, no reason that he should know that. Blame the idiot who told him the water was reclaimed in the first place.

They've been doing some work on the golf course in our neighborhood I wonder if maybe something got in the line?
Gee wiz they told me our water was number 1..... that looks like a little number 2 got in it.

Do you know if a boil water notice has been issued for your area?

Here's some info from the district gov site.

Default Villages Water Supply

This is from the 2nd run of the day, which I started about noon. The slightly brown tinged water is what I've typically been seeing most everyday since we've been here. Total Dissolved Solids runs about 155 ppm, which is not that bad actually. We were staying at an RV resort close to Kingsbay GA, I'd get about 350 ppm TDS with a thick white sludge left over afterwards.

Same here. I think it was more of a question about the dirty water than the cost of it.

OP, call CSU and ask if there was any maintenance in your area to cause the discoloration. Any notices were probably sent to the home owner and not to the occupant.

I would believe nothing this person ever told me in the future......reclaimed water for consumption?

I use the Distilled water from Walmart too, but see no reason why you should not do your own. I live in the Village of Poinciana and this past week Jacobs came through opening all the fire hydrants to flush the system. I worked for a water utility in CT and when there was annual hydrant flushing we would inform residents to run water for a bit before using because the flushing loosened and stirred up sediment on inside of transmission pipe walls and water might be brownish...albeit safe. Flush
ing hydrants in your area?

Have you considered using a 5 stage reverse osmosis unit under the sink?

Distillation will not remove all the chemicals.

Your TDS will drop to about 15, we have several customers using them for their CPAP & general drinking cooking etc.

Call if you want more info

Do you have a whole house filter or a filter on the faucet you use to get the water you distill? The filter may need changing. Also if your filtration system uses some type media that was recently changed, that might affect the water color
Our drinking water comes from very deep aquafers.

Maybe the reclaimed water valve got switched and intermingled with the domestic water system. Our tapwater smells like swamp water

care to share with us where you got that info from?

Reclaimed water is highly treated and disinfected but still contains some constituents at levels outside the desirable range for drinking water. Specifically, reclaimed water may have higher levels of salts, nutrients (nitrogen and phosphorus), and pathogens (e.g., bacteria and viruses). Reclaimed water has been safely used for non-drinking purposes in Florida for more than 40 years, but because of its composition, this water source should never be used for drinking or sanitary purposes.

You may want to think about what stated before you scare people

I bought a Blondell reverse osmosis for under my sink. It takes little room and better than mere filtering though I have that too.
