Great you identified your complaints and unhappiness before you bought a house here. Now you can search for a place that will make you happy. Hopefully it’s a long way from The Villages so you don’t suffer even a twang of unhappiness… a long, long way away!

I’m with you. You know reading the thread will be a train wreck, but you laugh the whole time, then take time to respond to the thread.

Been there, done that. They finally took down the temporary ten cent toll on the Southern State years after it was supposed to end. It was not only slowing traffic but it cost more to collect it than it brought in. That connects to the Belt Parkway, they have been repairing it for the past 50 years. Hope of them finishing it-zero. Traffic? How about taxes?

Real Estate? Prices are sky rocketing in Florida. People in NY are running from the crime.
You can get some great deals in Upstate NY.

Call it amenity fees or HOA fees it’s the same thing. You have rules and regulations everywhere. For all practical purposes, it’s an HOA. And selling your home and making money. That’s funny, too. Maybe at the present time because home prices have gone up. But the focus here is in selling new homes and not your older home. However, i am happy for the people who love it here. Good for you! You found your spot. Someday i hope to find mine, too.
Reality, we can chose to be happy or miserable anywhere. It is a choice. Re: Older home vs new home. Assuming you have an older home, it is worth far more than you paid for it. I'm no cockeyed optimist but some look at a lawn and see the weeds others see the flowers-it is a choice. It is the same lawn.

It is very hard to take your criticism seriously when you have less than a third grade education.

I've never heard that one before. But, it is a good one. Rope used to be made from natural fiber. Usually hemp, same as marijuana. In any case when, new it is hard and scratchy.
A well used rope would be far softer. With either you would end up dead from a hanging but, at least a used rope would not irritate your neck as much. Do not antagonize the hangman is also sage advice. Perhaps, delivered before a good discussion before an application of a belt. We did not have cell phones or child protection services and there was far less crime.

You’re right TV is not for everyone. Seems like you miss Long Island, if that’s where you’re happiest go there. The rest of us will stay here and enjoy all those things you don’t like 👍.

Believe me it turns out to be very expensive, but most agree worth it.
they offered me lots of water ,so much that I’ve bought and sold 6 houses here and no complaints about anything

40,000 Laws going into effect on one New Year’s Day, makes you wonder how many laws there are on the books in this country. Good luck avoiding the "rules", might I suggest the "Village of Anarchy"?
I've read our federal tax law is 86,000 pages.

Rules, years ago I got a printed copy of the New York ticket code. I don't recall why I requested it. Likely fighting yet another ticket. Some that I remember, not sure if it is also true in Florida but I expect it is. You cannot leave your car in the same place for 24 hours, that is storing your car on the street. If, you look hard enough, you will likely have a mark on your windshield from a pebble. They can ticket you for that. Hanging junk from your mirror is also illegal. So is driving barefoot. Sort of makes me wonder. If, you have a sunpass, can they claim it blocks your vision.

You can and should claim some of these things are an abuse of power.

That is very unfair of you. You do not know what the poster is dealing with. People in a nursing home probably will not accept moving to another place. Hopefully you have no idea what it is like to watch a parent turn into a ?????????

I do not golf (did try it 2x) and I don’t like the heat however I hate the cold more. I moved from the NE. There is still a lot to do here and I am so glad to own and live here full time. In a few years when I retire I hope to do more and maybe that will include golf.
