Vinyl Flooring
Oops! We put 2 holes in our vinyl kitchen floor. Have no extra for repair. Company discontinued. Help! Need one square of Armstrong Memories Stonington Almond Beige #62911. It's tan squares with darker tan 1" surrounding them. Three years old. ellys1944@yahoo.com

Three ideas having gone down this road a few times before…
1. Contact every flooring store you can find to see if anyone has any old stock. 2. Contact Armstrong and see who they sold the extra stock to of if they have any on hand. I had this happen with hardwood and the company did have some that they sent me. 3. Look for specialty flooring stores in your area that buy and the sell discontinued stock as their business model. I found some ceramic tile that way. 4. As a last resort, if you have some are of the floor that is covered by something (like the refrigerator for example), if possible, remove a tile from there and replace the damaged section. I was able to do this once even with vinyl sheet flooring using a sharply pointed razor knife to cut out the needed section then very carefully removing the tile and replacing the damaged area. 5. Now for the obvious, but perhaps not practical or desired solutions… throw rugs are good at hiding these things for a while if the damage is in a spot where you can use one… or it may be time for a new floor. Good luck with this, I know it can be very disconcerting. Just remember it can be "made new"... one way or other. Last edited by Allen; 04-25-2010 at 09:46 AM. |
