We have not been in the house three days (a New House) and the sewer lines are clogged. No toilet no shower no laundry use. Last night the water started pouring into the master bath via the shower drain and flooded it. Called home warranty Sunday evening they said call the plumber. Called the plumber and he said no one available to late Monday afternoon. Not Happy with that service! Using the baths at the pool. Hope someone shows up soon!

wow, that is terrible. Maybe you should call warranty back and tell them this is an emergency and see if they can get someone out asap. You should not have to use the pool restrooms. Good luck.

Warranty sent one out that afternoon. We didn't have your issue but the toilets all became clogged at the same time. They sent out the people who laid the lines to the house and in the house.


Try to run the water in the bathtub and flush the toilet at the same time. It opened ours up. When it happened a second time. But no water from shower floor. I am so sorry for you.


I think it is construction debris in the drains. But no one ever paid me to give plumbing advice.




Call warranty. AGAIN. They will fix it. It IS an emergency.

It happened to us two days in our new house, we called warranty and a plumber came out and snaked the main line. He said debris and rags were clogging the line from the new construction.

Pipe is repaired. Nice man who figured it out real quick. Apparently someone had run over the clean-out pipe with a vehicle and pushed it down into the drain line blocking it. He had to dig up the pipes and cut out the damaged pipe because they were both cracked. Glad that is over with.

Glad to know they took care of it rather quickly. Congratulations on moving in, we are about a month behind you.

We had same problem three days in on our new home and it happened to be debris in the line from construction. Called warranty and they asked I call the plumber, I really think warranty should have done that. Anyway it started with the shower drain backing up. Happy to report someone was out within 2 hours and to top it off this was on Memorial Day last year! Since this seems to be a recurring problem maybe the right hand needs to talk to the left one about this situation!

We had construction debris in our kitchen sink (apparently the dry wall people washed their stuff there). Went through several plumbers and finally asked Home Warranty who did the original plumbing. Mike Scott Plumbing was ours and when their plumber discovered the problem, he turned it in as warranty work and it was paid for.

You would think the warranty dept. would try to put a stop to this.
Drywallers know you shouldn't put "mud" down the drain.
Maybe if they started losing contracts, they would wise up.
This is not the first time this has happened.
