I have a nice route I walk in Sumter Landing. Start at the town square and walk along the wooden boardwalk on the lake as far as you can, then go thru the Colony Cottages area, then thread up the street to SweetBay, then cross the street and go up a cart path a short distance (I almost never see a cart there), then you turn right and there is a nice system of walking trails behind the Barnes and Noble store. I walk past Barnes and Noble over to the boardwalk on the lake which takes me back to where I started. It takes about 1/2 hour or 40 minutes depending on my pace.

Lil Dancer: That sounds exactly like the neighborhood I want to live in. What are those "Colony Cottages" ?

Coney,

She's speaking of the cottages adjacent to Lake Sumter that are owned by the developer and are presently used for the lifestyle preview program. They are lovely homes in a great location....a recent thread indicated that if/when these go up for sale, prices may be close to a million bucks (while that seems kinda high, no doubt they will be on the top price tier).

Villages07..... THANK YOU for the explanation of the cottages; I do have expensive tastes LOL. When I'm ready to rent a house for my first year, it will be in that area cuz I would love to do Lil Dancer's walk-route every day!

I agree CIB...sounds like a beautiful walk. When are you planning on making the move?

sunnysue: DUNNO ! I'm still in research-mode. Then I have to market my property. Then when/if it sells I will make the 3,000 mile trek to Florida. Then I'll rent a 3/2 in TV, with hardwood floors, within a short walk to Sumpter Landing ;D ;D That's the PLAN !

Coney,
That sounds like a wonderful plan. Have you been there yet for the preview? I'm going in May so hopefully, I will get a better idea of what village I would like.

I wonder how long beady's path is described above

I can't afford the million dollar cottages unless someone adopts me/us. LOL
though I know I can walk them too.

I wish TV did have more walker friendly areas and/or parks since I'm not a golfer

The cottages rent for about $100 a night. We stayed for 4 nights in the Lifestyle Preview and it was the "best." The cottages are beautiful and you can stroll right down to the town square. Can HIGHLY recommend a stay in the cottages.

Hi lindaz,
Do you know the difference between a member and a contributor? I registered so i don't know what else you have to do to be considered a member.

Sunny,

Newbies often ask that question...it is a label assigned by the system based on the number of posts you have made...nothing more, nothing less. "members" get no more privileges than 'contributors'....and frequent posters like KathieI and Tal just get harassed ;D

Welcome to TOTV, it's lots of fun and educational, too.
