Just an FYI...if you have CenturyLink for internet, but choose not to have a landline telephone, you will still have an active dial tone on your phone line and can call 911 from it. Being able to call 911 was the main reason I kept a landline for the past few years but once we hooked up with CenturyLink for internet and realized we’d have that option without paying for a landline, we went strictly cell for phone services.

Thanks for that info Skybo. Never thought about it! Maybe Centurylink is good for something!

Wish I had read this before I had Century Link installed. I have a few friends who love it.....recording lots of shows and watching HD on 2 different TVs. Well, the installers were here yesterday and I supposedly live too far away from the "box" which is at the mailboxes. (in Sunset Pte about 2 blocks from the mailbox) So I can only get 1 HD line!!! For the same price!! So if I watch an HD program in living room, other TVs are not on HD. But the worse part was when tonight I was going to record one show and watch another at 8. I could not watch the 2nd program in HD since I was recording in HD!! Back to Comcast I go....why have HD TVs if you cannot use them!! So be sure to ask how many HD lines you will be able to get before falling for all this hype.

Got all 4 tvs on HD with Direct TV and a little cheaper than Centurylink. We might could have "worked it out" with Centurylink if they had only shown up and helped us with it. I could have easily managed 2 HD lines if that had been the only problem but it was one different thing after another and we could not get service!
