Default Warning. Lake Miona rec center

I was attending a lecture in the room next to the Marine Ball. About 75-100 people were and the temperature was comfortable. So, I don't think there was a problem with the central AC system. (Of course, we weren't in formal attire.)

My wife bowls in a league at Spanish Springs. Earlier this fall, their A/C was out in the main area, although it was working in the locker area. It took 2-3 weeks before it was repaired. The desk people told us they were waiting for parts or a unit. So it may not be as easy a fix at a rec center as some imagine. But, truthfully, no one knows what was wrong and why it took so long other than Property Management.

Yes it was mentioned to staff on the first during the dance. They knew and nothing was done in preparation for the Marine Ball.

Go Marines. They best the air force today 17 to 16. What a game!

We were at a Halloween swing dance at Lake Miona in the big ballroom on Oct. 31st and it was cool. Wonder what happened?

A $1,000,000+ budget to change those flowers out really helps.

I like the flowers.

And...it appears that the air conditioning is working o.k....unless I missed something here...

It is so wonderful to be able to partake of the beauty here every day. Sometimes I have to pinch myself to make sure I'm not dreaming. At the end of all these suppositions of this is not acceptable and whose fault is it lies a reasonable answer that we have not found the right person or put the effort in to find that can answer the question. I doubt we have a conspiracy here over AC.

PS - what was the budget for flowers and rec centers in your last hometown?

My post is getting side tracked. Not about flowers but maintenance of rec centers. Knowing they were experiencing problems with the AC Nov 1st they had ample time to either repair it or yes to move us to another rec center. I'm sure many clubs, even if bingo, would have given up their room for one night to help out our veterans for their ball that is a special event after all, not just a club night. Bottom line as soon as they knew there were problems with the a.c. , which was at least one week prior, immediate action should have taken place knowing the Marine Ball was coming up

I just called Lake Miona Rec center and asked them if they were having trouble with their air conditioner and the person who answered the phone said yes, one of the larger rooms, and they are waiting for a part to come in.

I'm so sorry that the room where the ball was held was hot....and being dressed in formal attire makes it feel even hotter.

There are times when getting parts or entire units (AC) takes much more time than expected. It's frustrating for all parties....those who are in charge and those who expect to be comfortable. As mentioned previously, the AC was out, in part where I bowl. After weeks of rather warm temps at the lanes, we went to the front desk to find out why things were progressing so slowly. We were shown work orders, other paperwork, etc. Seems the replacement unit was not available locally and had to ordered and that was taking FOREVER it seems, to arrive. As others have said, it is a specialized unit. Took a number of weeks. What I forgot to mention....when the unit first failed, repair people were there quickly to access the problem and initiate repairs. Those repairs just took longer than we hoped. Maybe this was the same situation for the defective unit at Lake Miona. I'm sorry that such a gala evening was less than satisfactory for all.....Birthday Balls are generally great fun....at least all the ones I've attended have been.

Recreation Locations

You should e-mail them about your concerns. Or, snail mail if you need to be anonymous without using a return address.

Omg, that seemed so simple. Wonder why OP didn't think of that?

Thanks GC. Usually there are not conspiracies going on. Once in a while though.... And it takes people with power, motive and who are within a small controlling group. Cannot figure out why anyone would want to make a Military Celebration in a place that is very patriotic a bad experience for those involved.

Amazing - this was the 3rd post when this thread started. Sometimes it's a little harder to live the dream then others but I'm still living the dream.

Because Why would you need to call a rec center After your evening is ruined. Can't do a Military ball over again Arrangements should have been made by the villages to move us or even change our date to a more appropriate time when air was working. Water under the bridge now. Whomever runs the military club can handle how they see fit
