Watching the devastation on TV from Ian, I see that Central Florida communities were flooded, including Orlando. I put a lot of faith in the water management system we have here in The Villages and I'm wondering now if the system would have been overwhelmed if we were in the direct path of Ian's eye wall. How much rain can our water management system handle in that short amount of time? Wondering how would we have fared with this storm?

In this video, they talk about how the Village system reacted to Irma. Listen to what the experts who helped design and manage our water/storm management systems have to say.

Even before watching this video, I had a feeling that the storm management system north of 466 was a bit different than what we have south of 466. The potable and non potable water is not separated as it is south of 466. Yes, there were improvements to the system when they laid the infrastructure for the water management system south of 466. I would not be surprised if the engineers made more improvements as they moved south of 44 but that is just pure conjecture on my part. The presentation is a very good one and I recommend watching it. Thanks again to twoplanekid for posting this video presentation.
