Just wondering if there are many long term renters, multiple years, living there full time. Would like to hear about your experience their as a renter as opposed to a homeowner? Advantages, disadvantages, etc. Are all the activities in the villages available to renters the same as owners? Mostly know the pros and cons of owning compared to renting in general, just would like to hear opinions specifically regarding in the Villages. Would really like to hear from some long term renters, not snowbirds, but people who live there full time. Thanks for any help.

It appears that one difference is long term renters don't join Talk of The Villages based on the lack of replies. I would assume there would be no difference between The Villages and anywhere else as far as the pros and cons. Full time renter residents would have the same access to all of the amenities as a owner resident has

Pros for renter: Renting is usually less, or equal to the cost of running a home per month excluding a mortgage.
Keep money from sale of their home and invest. No maintenance, or repairs or replacement of appliances. Renters insurance is $100 compared to 10 times for homeowners. No lawn maintenance, or pest control, amenities fee, water/ sewer. After lease is up move wherever you want, or stay. Pros for owner, rented within a few days of posting. Long term rented before previous tenet leaves. No outlay of cash to furnish home. Selling home with tenet in place can be a plus
