Not sure who you are referring to as a "talking head" but the President has established with his team a three phased plan. We are still in phase I of that plan and social distancing,, wearing masks etc. are still part of the plan. I disagree that we will be in bad economic times for six years. If we wait another year to open up the economy there will not be much of an economy left and you can be assured that a "talking head" from another party has NO plan. This Country has to go back to work! We cannot continue to keep it shut down, with multi trillion give away programs like are now being proposed. |

How incredibly rude some people are. I am recovering from lung cancer, so I wear a mask when I'm out and about and try to stay away from people. I am not panicking, , but I am trying to protect myself without burying myself in the house. For you to find it entertaining that some people are following the guidelines as recommended and think it's funny that you walk up on them and they run is despicable. I don't care how you feel about this pandemic and how you choose to handle it, but you should be more respectful of the people around you, especially when they are showing you (mask) that they are concerned. I hope you never have to battle an illness like lung cancer for a few years,, get to the point where you basically win (with daily medication) , and then have the whole thing threatened by a virus. Shame on you.

First of all masks are useless, as many doctors have said. I emailed the recreation department about the use of masks at pools. When you’re checking in they ask you to wear one and if you’re going to interact with someone inside of 6 feet they ask you to wear one. You do not have to wear one when you’re in the water, but they would still like you to observe the 6 foot rule. I went to a pool yesterday, there were about 10 of us there and no one was wearing a mask because it would be ridiculous to do so. All of us were more than 6 feet apart from each other. If you don’t like what you see at the pools then stay home. When is this paranoia over a virus that you cannot hide from and that is 99% survivable going to go away? It’s just ridiculous!

"Simply put, people would rather listen to a talking head rather than examining history and listening to the non-partisan scientific community." Then this: "Please don't reply with a politicized comment. Politics is just another word for BS, something I'd rather not step in" You stepped in in first. Steve |

Your post quoted a prior post about a bully taking delight in walking up to people in stores to watch them run away. You opened with this line: “ Best example of this was earlier today, although I don't know if it funny or just pathetic.”. You also wondered if it was panic. Taken with the context and the theatrics you described that aren’t typical of someone prepared and walking on a path often filled with golf cars, I tried to answer your panic question for you . If you weren’t bullying by getting close with your cart, I sincerely apologize. I and more vulnerable people close to me wear PPE along the paths and in stores so I stand by my post as useful information. As to meanness, those posts stand for themselves.

It really had nothing to do with the post about encroaching people in a grocery store, which I DO NOT condone. Totally different scenario---indoor vs. outdoor, a foot or two vs. 8 or 9, etc. I still don't know if it was funny or sad, but I'll say this to the poster who has lung cancer and is immunocompromised: It's probably a little early to be "out and about". Also, please realize that a mask does very little to protect you from exposure to the virus. Please don't assume you are safe from GETTING it because you wear a mask, because you are right, you don't want to survive lung cancer and chemo only to get taken out by a virus. Be safe. |
