The issue here is not whether or not The Villages is a nice place to live. I will freely concede that it is. This discussion is about having local government that represents the residents, not just the Developer. There is no reason why we taxpayers should be subsidizing the Developer's business.

We are living in a community, not in a resort hotel. We deserve government that represents the people, not one special interest. Local government has become a plutocracy.
As The Villages continues to grow so do our property values and quality of life, that is the miracle of good government. I don’t know how much more responsive this government can be. Results matter. Live on!

Hage apparently gets most of his income via the developer. He should recluse himself in any dealings with the developers activities.

Why in the world would you want to shut off discussion?
You probably know the answer, it's labeled "too political" when the truth leaks out, don't confuse voters with the information they may not otherwise be able t find on those who run for office.... one good example, how many take the time, and the GREAT EFFORT it takes, to research judges before they vote to "retain" them... ! ? We know that answer, same in all states, people really don't care you they vote for.... for the most part that is. The few who do, dare not discuss or tell others how to dig for the information they need before they vote !

Personally, I'm very thankful to that internet news site that is not allowed to be mentioned on TOTV, for their researching and printing the information they recently published concerning Mr. Hage's income sources and political supporters. Regardless of your opinion of Mr. Hage, sunshine is the best disinfectant.
