Has there been any announcement for shelters? I would think churches and Rec Centers could be shelters??

SPECIAL NEEDS SHELTERS
In the event of a hurricane or other natural disaster and your need to evacuate to a
special needs shelter, YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER PRIOR BEFORE GOING TO THE
SHELTER.
To Register in SUMTER COUNTY Contact:
Sumter County Emergency Management
7375 Powell Road
Wildwood, FL 34785
352-569-1660

Web Site:
Special Needs Information | Sumter County, FL - Official Website
Download the Special Needs Registration Form

Kind of funny to me. If things get bad enough to need to go to a shelter, I doubt you would be able to go online and download the registration form...

The time to register is now. That way the EOC and appropriate agencies will know about the individual needing assistance and can prepare. Please do not wait until the storm hits.

The pet-friendly shelter requires all dogs be crated.
If you're seriously considering evacuation, please make sure you have a crate for your best buddy.

Hi Mrs. Barefoot, Our Bestest Buddy is driving. Mr Barney. He been lying around like royalty while Mrs. Nucky and I prepared to go. We can't go till tomorrow, I was only kidding, I'm driving and I'm to tired to start an adventure now. We are heading to somewhere in western Georgia? I got all his shots up to date and scanned them into the computer but it won't print so Shelters won't work this time. It's OK, it will all work out fine. Check out The Villages best friend, tucillo on the Irma weather update thread. Just absolutely priceless what TOTV'S does for us. Take Care everyone!
