Smile Weather Alerts

To all who have not already done so run do not walk to your nearest Publix and pick up a Midland Weather Radio(29.95)then go to your nearest Villages Fire Station where they will gladly program it and explain its operation to you.Its the best insurance you can buy.

OK, I've made a little progress. Way down at the bottom of the page, in the dark blue stripe, you an see the name Michael Diener. Click on that and you will come to the page that will get you into the place where you can set up everything you need. Definitely not very people friendly. But the map is really great!

Rain Alarm

You can program this map to advise you when weather comes into your predetermined range.

We are fortunate to have several days notice when storms are on the way, but we should have a tool to be as prepared as we can.

Already my favorite site. Thanks for posting.

Thumbs up

Nice site! I put it on my Android phone too as a widget! THANKS! Like it better than a couple of the other aps I use. I have TWC, WeatherBug, and Accuweather on my phone. The WeatherBug widget is nice on the home page for quick reference though.

Thanks Golfingnut! I didn't see anything about paying for this service? What did Joaniesmom buy?

How often do you experience power failure in The Villages?

We had one the other night for about 7 minutes. It was while I was sleeping, so I didn't know we had a power failure until I woke up to flashing clocks. We've had one other power failure in the 4 years I lived here. Our utilities are underground, so that might be why we don't experience many power failures. In Utah it wasn't unusual to have one a week during blizzard season.

I just donated two bucks to help keep it running. Didn't buy anything.
